California Banning the sale of Gas Powered Automobiles

Thanks, I'm just curious if the weight cuts mileage.
Guess I should ask, standard tires or something special?
They have to have special tires due to the extra weight and to ensure a more efficient roll. You can put other tires on them but the tire life will be shorter and if it has a more aggressive tread, less efficiency.

I found my "fuck this Tesla, I will x out my wife if she ever buys one again" pressure point.

She has a nail in her right rear tire. Too easy, I'll take it and have the tire patched and be on my way.

Yeah, nah. Fuck Elon and his engineers.

Teslas do not have spare tires nor do they come with a lug wrench or even the lug nut key socket or whatever it is called. Nothing. You have to take it to the dealer because Teslas have special or proprietary or whatever lug nuts. Regardless, you don't just take it to a tire place to be patched or even replace the tires. No way to change the tire, no tire anyway, and nonstandard lug nuts? This is enough of a problem aftermarket kits exist to provide something that shitty little company does not.

Just buy a new one, the old one is garbage now.

My BMW I4 is better in every way than the Tesla. If you are in the market for an electric car, leases start at like 250/month.

I had a 325xi. It was a great running car, but all the accessories kept falling apart and cost a fortune to repair.
Turn signal was the very first to give up the ghost, amiright?

Whenever I buy a car, asking where the spare is and it's condition is something I do on autopilot, one of my default questions to be asked.

I just pulled up her car's mileage. At 14K and change I didn't notice any appreciable wear. Minus the offending foreign object there's nothing amiss with her tires. I don't know the specific tires on the car.

Until Sunday AM I had never heard of a car without a spare tire or odd proprietary lug nuts.

Well I would never purchase an electric car, the tech moves forward too quickly, but a lease with a low payment is a very good deal. And no maintenance. I love my car, for the price I don’t know if I could possibly have better performance.

Pre red pilled Musk, this would have been a great mental gymnastics question to ask the Lefty electric car nuts and watch at how they'd try to justify not needing it. Damn. We missed a perfectly good time to watch them shoot themselves in the feet.

I pretty much think the guy, like his cars, is highly overrated across the board.

It does seem odd, but not having a spare isn't unusual for a lot of modern cars. Ex. most Porsches and Mercedes, even some Hondas, etc don't have spares. Rather, they include sealant/flat repair kit for emergency repairs. Most still come with at least a jack though. Although, I don't think Tesla does; they expect you to buy these on your own. All in the interest of weight savings or something. It's silly.

Also, I don't think Tesla has proprietary lug nuts or even a locking lug. Rather they have a lug cover which requires a special tool for removal, which then provides access to the actual lug nuts. Doesn't really matter either way when your stranded on the side of the road with no way to effectively deal with it aside from waiting for roadside assistance.

Just another step in the emasculation of America. 😉🙂

I dont hate BMW. There were a lot of good things about the car I had. It even had a spare tire!

Only 14k? What is here commute to work? 5 miles? That seems amazing because I feel like you've had it for three years?

Leases on Electric cars are wild cheap and it makes no sense other than marketing.
