The news:

LeBron James' Son, Bronny, Suffers Cardiac Arrest During Workout at USC

My brain:

You know why he collapsed. 18-year-old super athlete with a billionaire's professional regimen at his disposal for his entire life and we are pretending that this "happens all the time".

Maybe now that it isn't obscure soccer players in Europe or broadcasters people will wake up.

No, no, no. It's obviously a congenital cardiac condition like R on T or some other issue that caused it. All the healthy players have had congenital issues not previously diagnosed.

Move along, nothing to see here.

The real question is this. When kids start dying in SOF pipelines due to never-before-seen-cardiac-defects, and people start connecting the DMED data (150% increase in myocarditis) and all these "cOrReLaTiOn NoT cAuSaTiOn" #diedsuddenly events across Europe and elsewhere... will it matter then?

This is all pretty frustrating.

In all fairness, I am not going to say it was Professor Plum in the library with the candlestick, or covid vaccine, until there's more information. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. Edited, if he had the vaccine, it's certainly extremely high (like #1) on the differential.

I wanna say LeBron was pretty public about saying he got the shot in 2022; Bronny was playing internationally and committed to practices at USC early (USC at the time had a mandatory policy, it is now "strongly recommended" as of April of this year).

ETA- LeBron got the shot in '21. He also said his family was vaccinated. Bronny was courtside when the venues required proof of shot to attend.

Thanks. Aside from Duke recruiting him to play I know nothing about him.
