Following five days of testimony, a Solano County Superior Court jury on
Tuesday found a U.S. Navy SEAL not guilty of assault with a deadly weapon in
connection with a 2005 Vacaville bar brawl.

The nine-man, three-woman jury deliberated roughly two hours Tuesday
afternoon before finding that defendant XXXXXXXXXXXX, a
25-year-old SEAL stationed in Hawaii, was not guilty of assault with a
deadly weapon with great bodily injury.

The charges stemmed from the knifing of an unarmed bartender during a fight
between employees of Stars Recreation Center and a group of SEALS who were
on a stopover at Travis Air Force Base following a training mission.

The March 25, 2005, fight reportedly started as a closing-time dispute at
the bar inside the Vacaville recreation center but quickly escalated to a
parking-lot brawl during which Stars bartender Dave Rosenberg was knifed and
critically injured.

During the trial, defense attorney Amanda Bevins argued that XXXXXXX was
only defending himself and his comrades when the stabbing occurred during a
chaotic brawl.

I am sure XXXXXX is breathing a big sigh of relief. Good guy.
