Game of Thrones thread -

What do you think of this theory, proposed by Sons 2 and 3 after some research on the internerd?

There are always 3 Targaryens. The three-headed dragon.

Danerys, now Jon Snow and the third Targaryen is...

Tyrion.

"You are no son of mine," Tywin always told him.

And how is it Tyrion was able to talk to the dragons...and they listened and didn't fry him?

So, apparently, before she married Tywin Lannister, Johanna and the Mad King were lovers. Eventually she married into House Lannister, moved to Casterly Rock and gave birth to Cersei and Jamie. After some years, returning with her husband to Kings Landing for an official visit, the flames of passion were reignited in the Mad King's bed...Tyrion was conceived...a dwarf was born in Casterly Rock because his true father, a Targaryen, was the product of generations of inbreeding.

Sounds plausible to me...but I'll defer to the experts.

I've seen it before. In the books there are other reported Targaryens and even in the TV series (if it was mentioned) the now deceased master of the Night's Watch was a Targaryen. That means even before Visrys (I'm not looking it up. Dany's brother) received his grown of gold that gave us 5 "known" living Targaryen's? I think the whole "can only be three" is garbage for that fact alone. 3 what? Publicly named "dragons?" Nonsense.

At the start of the books we have 4 and maybe 5:

V and Dany.
The NW Maester
Jon Snow
Tyrion?

Add to the one or two in the books and there were 6 alive at the same time? O_o

Oh well, it sounded pretty good when the boys told me. Guess they need to expand the research.

I don't know how the fan theories explain away the many Targaryens in both mediums, but I don't give it any credence. If it pans out that Tyrion is a Targeryen, I'm cool with that, but it shoots down the "three dragon" angle if taken literally.

Cool use of social network analysis on GoT

Mathematicians mapped out every “Game of Thrones” relationship to find the main character

Tired of this year's election? Here's one I can support:

campaigns.jpg

Snow's too weak and has poor decision making skills. His VP is a boss though and could be the real power if elected. Dany...just too much of that female empowerment shit or whatever. I'm tired of hearing about that because if a woman needs to be empowered it just means she was weak from the beginning. Littlefinger...he's worse than Trump though his running mate could certainly be mine...

This race the VP's are the best candidates, minus Cersei's ticket.

Cersei Lannister. Fiscal responsibility, family, and an improved legal system. Tough on domestic terrorism, decisive leadership, and the strength to see them through. She's the leader we need this year.

And of course you'd be behind Cersei, she'll legalize incest for all your Floridian brother's, sister's and cousins. Maybe a few Mom and Pops as well. A vote for Cersei Lannister is a vote for Family Love...

That's a limited consequence. Eliminating debt to the Iron Bank, separating church and state, and returning trial by combat are what Westeros needs. Sure there are some good ides in the other platforms, but look at the people! Dany without dragons? You know what you call that? You don't call her at all. Jon Snow? That dude went all Leeroy Jenkins on an army because his brother didn't understand how arrows work. Do you really want his sniveling, brooding self running your kingdom? Lady Mormont has bigger stones than "know nothing" Snow. Littlefinger? Send his ass to the Wall and see how he fares against Tormund Giantsbane. His bitch ass wouldn't last a week among the Free People.

Besides, Qyburn isn't the Director of Intelligence Westeros needs, he's the DoI Westeros deserves. Too many "bird masters" and absent Varys, Master Bird Pimp, Qyburn's HUMINT capabilities are the best in the land.

Cersei has the best overall ticket. Those election results reflect popularity, not ability.

Uh...the Iron Bank always gets paid.

The Lannisters are in debt to the Iron bank. Tywin kept kicking the can down the road because their gold mines are now barren and he's borrowed massive sums to fund the kingdom during the war. They may eventually be paid without fail, but right now the Lannisters are majorly in debt to the Bank with no plan to replay them. They are merely buying time.

Casterly Rock isn't in debt, the Throne is. Hell, the Throne is in debt to everyone. Except the Iron Bank could fund anyone to take her out if she decides not to pay.

In the books Casterly Rock is still very rich, but in the TV series Tywin says the opposite. In the series Tywin says the mines dried up year ago and he (House Lannister) is in debt to the Iron Bank.

If only he had the chunk of change Jon Snow just got for driving an Infiniti for 20 seconds and not having to say a word.

I forgot this. He does not clearly state that Casterly Rock is in debt, but he's clear that the Lannisters aren't the ones funding the crown anymore.

This was truly a great scene:

The people have spoken and the people are "steyw-pid." (Read in your best Sansa Stark voice)

Jon Snow wins 'Game of Thrones' election

Snow, aka the King of the North, and his running mate Lady Lyanna Mormont pulled in 35% of the 1.7 million votes in this faux-lection. Votes were split among the other candidates, whom fans of the HBO series know by heart.

Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister, running on a platform of female power, racked up 32% of votes. Patyr Baelish and Sansa Stark, who were all about business and debt reduction, snagged 31%. Cersei Lannister and Qyburn managed a mere 2% of votes.

They could have made Westeros great again but instead they chose a vagina and a bad-ass 10 YO girl. That's why we can't have nice things. Snow's the leader the people deserve, not the leader they need.
