Gaming thread

It's your typical milsim shooter, slow, clunky, die from someone looking at you funny. But it is a lot of fun, imagine if battlefield toned down the ridiculousness factor and was actually as "realistic" as some people say it is.

I enjoyed this a little bit more than Arma 3, from a purely get on with some friends and play for a little bit perspective. (I feel like Arma is meant more for massive set pieces and long missions). But I highly reccomend you play it with some friends or you find a server that meets what you want to get out of it (there are those who treat it as if its real life, and then there are those who just want to do some shenanigans, both can be fun just know what you're going to get).

ARMA is meant for whatever you want to set it up for. I used to have Fulda Gap grade armored columns and fly an A-10. It all depends on the mission. You can do everything from mild to wild with ARMA. Look up ShackTac on youtube, specifically Dyslesxi (probably spelled wrong) and watch some of his videos. It's pretty awesome.

Oculus Rift updated their dash and home. Pretty cool that you can customize your area and getting achievements in games open up items you can place.

One of my go to YouTubers for a while, still watch this video of his every now and then just because of how epic it was. One of the coolest thing that I've seen in his videos, then again every video of his has moments that make you go "oh shit".

Entirely speculation with no substantiated evidence, aside from the fact this guy correctly predicted almost every detail of BF1 months before it was ever announced. But if the video is true then DICE can take all of my money already, loved BC2 so much.

A couple of coworkers bought the console version of PUBG. They said the game is currently full of bugs, but a major patch is supposed to drop on the 20th.

A bunch of us have been playing the test server and the updated version is a lot better. The UI is completely redone, and vaulting is pretty nifty. Though being able to vault into buildings with windows in the way is pretty stupid. It is a night and day difference between the normal and test servers. Personally, I don't think they will have it ready the 20th.

Picked up Company of Heroes 2 and I gotta say it is pretty damn cool. Very different than your typical RTS. They put a lot of effort into this game. PUBG is much better with the update, but you will still get steamrolled out of the blue. At least the kill cam is working so you can see what happened.

Love CoH, but the microtransactions put a damper on things. Bridge maps are my favorite when you can strongpoint them and go to town

Just downloaded Fortnite last night (it's free) it's pretty damn fun. It's like hunger games.

Also downloaded Star Wars Battlefront 2 for $35.. didn't get around to playing it yet but the beta was entertaining.

I have to find a suspense horror game to play with buddies over some drinks. Used to do that a few years ago with Condemned. Getting drunk and playing a horror game with friends is surprisingly hilarious.

Any of you gaming guys ever hear of this happening to someone you know? The Swatting, now the dead part.

https://compete.kotaku.com/police-kill-28-year-old-after-prank-swatting-call-1821648110

A 28-year-old man was shot and killed by a Wichita police officer after a reported hostage situation call last night. At a press conference this afternoon, Wichita police said it was a false call meant to draw SWAT officers to the scene, an act known as “swatting.” It appears to have been linked to an argument over Call of Duty, although police have not confirmed that.

Like @Kraut783 stated this has been something that has gone on for a few years now mainly being used against popular streamers on platforms such as Twitch.tv it's meant as a prank, but the entire thing is asinine. If you're interested there are compilations on YouTube of people having this done to them, I remember seeing a city block be shut down and helicopters and swat teams surround a highrise because of it.

Apparently the person who was killed had a known history of "swatting" other people, it still doesn't excuse this happening but when you play stupid games you win stupid prizes. What's infuriating to me though is that he wasn't even involved in the original incident and he lost his life over $1. I hope the two who were the cause of this whole thing are prosecuted to the fullest extent possible.

It was only a matter of time before that stupid practice got someone killed. And the guy who was shot had nothing to do with the event at all! I hope they throw the book at this asshole.

I've also heard of cases similar to "Swatting" where someone sends a prostitute or drug dealer over to a streamer's house, with the unexpected guest expecting payment for goods/services.

This fucking guy - he’ll be fun in prison.

Swatter: not my fault someone died over 911 gamer prank | Daily Mail Online

I’m sure the police appreciate his confession on a freeking YouTube channel interview.

Hate because I pray to whatever powers that be, that this guy finds himself in prison for a long time and that no joy or happiness, even the smallest amount, ever comes for him. That his life is met with never ending sorrow and heartbreak.

'It's my personal belief that I didn't cause someone to die,' a man claiming to be Barriss said Friday during an interview on the DramaAlert YouTube channel.

'Of course I was involved,' he admitted to DramaAlert. The interview with the YouTube channel appeared to happen before police arrested the gamer Friday night.

Yeah no, I have zero sympathy for this. May he rot away in jail.
