Gaming thread

Epic is pure trash. For those of you not up to speed, do some research on its security issues, how it enumerates running processes, DLL's, takes usage data from Steam, etc. It is part data miner, part malware, part crap software...and the parent company has ties to the Chinese gov't.

I am really jonesing to play BL3, but not so bad as to install the Epic store.

Yeah, I was just as bummed out when Metro Exodus was pulled off steam and instead left to rot on that Epic Game Store due to the contract they signed with them. Welp, looks like I won't be picking either Borderlands 3 or Metro Exodus up until they hit steam. *sigh*

Bumping around Youtube channels by guys who make money covering the BL series...some of them claim they won't touch it on PC so long as it is available via Epic. I'm intreested to see if that will hold or if they will migrate to a console to produce content.

I'm betting they're going to go to console if they really care about their data, but if it's their job and they only have a PC. I can only guess they're going to cave if that's their job and they have no other way to produce income. I can only guess that's going to be a big ticket item if that's their main content that they put out, and the big ticket item through Epic Games might be the only way they eat.

The thing with a lot of those BL producers as well as big youtubers in general is that they have consoles/PC as well as their main platform they game on. While I don't think they'll cave in, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Grandstanding is easy when your paycheck isn't being affected.

They will do exactly what Battlefield 5, Apex Legends, and Anthem did to boost their numbers. They will sponsor and pay the more popular streamers to play it and say good things. Not all mind you, but enough.

They have ways to game the system and 2K has ways to make this a fair representation of what gamers want...but will any party go down those roads? Unlikely.

Steam needs to open up more profit % for the developers, but I'd honestly pay to offset the difference between Steam and Epic just to play a title like BL3 on opening day.

PC gamers can hold the line and potentially make a difference if they can set aside their emotions and wait. Vote with your money.

I'm playing the Borderland GOTY Enhanced version right now. Solid, think of the original with all of BL2's features and graphics. It is pretty good.

I've been playing Outward. Game is awesome. If you're looking for a game that is difficult and completely unforgiving, check it out

Speaking of difficult and completely unforgiving, just picked up Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Same devs who make the Dark Souls and BloodBourne games. Looking forward to getting my ass kicked when I get off work and the wife is asleep tomorrow.

Just pirate B3 when it comes out and buy it when it comes to Steam 6 months later. Win win!

I've been hitting Kingdom Come Deliverance lately and apart from the optomisation being atrocious it's a very very good game.

If this guy is right, Red Dead 2 on PC will be an Epic Game store exclusive.

To be honest admin, I couldn't care less, I just want that game to be on PC finaly. I've already given up on Bannerlord being released anywhere in my lifetime, but RDR2 must come to PC in whatever format I don't care. ^^

Any Switch gamers? I used to game on PC, until I hulked out on DOTA2.

Besides Fire Emblem Three Houses, looking to get Mutant Year Zero.

Which is your right as much as it is mine and others to not support Epic. I understand the business model and rationale behind the move: more money for the devs. My problem is the platform. Maybe one day it will improve, but for now I will vote the only way I can: with my wallet. People are review bombing Borderlands games which is utterly stupid. Review bombing does nothing, but if consumers would back their views with their wallets businesses will have to listen.

Yeah, Bannerlord...I've waited on that game forever. The dev diaries make it sound like they are trying to do the right thing, but damn...they are taking forever.
