I've never seen Congress and the Office of the Presidency so fucked up. Even during Watergate you had a sense that things were moving toward a resolution and the business of government was still being conducted according to protocol.

I've been around long enough to remember when American flags where flying at most houses here in the midwest. Neighbors competed to fly the biggest flag, with the most lighting and nicest landscaping. You don't see an overwheming amount of "other" flags in my neck of the woods, but its almost become rare to see the stars and stripes. This time, I don't think a new war will turn it around.
Look at the faces of Biden supporters whenever he blurts out some slurring, incomprehensible nonsense. Baffled polite half-smiles in the uncomfortable silence…ignoring it like it didn’t happen. Like somebody farting in a crowded elevator.
