The thing I have noticed about these pro-Palestinian protests is the lack of real condemnation of what Hamas did. Maybe I'm not looking at the right ones, but the ones I have seen all seem focused on speaking about Israel's retaliation and even the ones who do speak about Hamas' cowardly attack always seem to do the but or try to give an around-about way in blaming Israel for Hamas attacking. I don't know what Israel should do a part of me strongly believes bombing and laying siege to Gaza is wrong, and that Israel should show mercy. However, another part feels the Palestinians are hostile people, the majority support Hamas and their actions, and Israel should stomp on them until they are broken; otherwise, they won't stop.
As for the protests, I am against curtailing free speech. Yes, I know one side has done it a lot, and it would be fair to do the sam, but I dont think it is right to do just because they have done it. Also, it is a losing optic. The left has a high control of the media narrative, and reducing their free speech does nothing but strengthen their message to their audience that the right are a bunch of fascists in training.
