I mean… do we really think someone with the authority to speak on behalf of the LA County Sheriff’s Department actually approved that statement? If I had to bet (and I would), I’d say it was someone running the department’s social media who fired off that tweet without caring whether they’d lose their job over it.

You'd hope, but it being Los Angeles County, where the elected officials to include the Sheriff are massive liberals, I doubt it. They're just sad it didn't go how they wanted. Which is sad, Los Angeles and the County were once the greatest places to live.

A deal was made and neither side followed through. So was it really ever going to happen?

I'd be deliberate in our framing here- there was an agreed ceasefire, Israel violated it, then Iran violated it in 3 hours.

For the people in the back, America did what America does and led the world to peace. When no other country would put their balls on the table for peace, we did- and the two countries didn't want it. No one in Europe brokered a deal. Just like Ukraine/Russia in '21 (thanks, Blinken and Biden for killing that one), and again in '24, '25 multiple times.

The Iran/Israel conflict isn't our war. They don't want peace. Israel got what it wanted (destruction of nuclear sites) and that wasn't enough. Iran got what it wanted (we called Israel off), and that's not enough. We tried. Cut all the funding, cut all the support.

Contrarianism and cynicism are the easiest positions to hold. They require zero thought, zero principles, and only require the user to say "NUH UH" with their ears plugged and eyes tightly closed.

I think it is awesome that they talked at all. My position isn’t anti Trump on this. It is anti Israeli. They broke the ceasefire as soon as it went into effect, and again are escalating the conflict, and in my opinion trying to get us more involved.

I'm trying to imagine the faces of the leftist twinkie Euro-libs on the Norwegian Nobel committee when they get a Nobel Prize for Peace nomination from some good 'ol boy named "Buddy" from Georgia...for Donald Trump.

They'd drink poison before they'd consider Trump. He could end global warming, world hunger, find a cure for cancer...and they'd still drink poison before they'd give him a prize.
