Sometimes I wonder if any of you have ever talked to a real liberal person. Not some blue haired they/them homo, but a normal person who is left leaning. Im not the fucking boogeyman, I’m just a guy who has slightly different views of what Makes America Great.
Unlike most of this board apparently I do not make politics my entire personality. Most people who know me, assume I’m conservative. I have a fantastic job, have a single nuclear family going on 15 years, and all my donations are to veterans charities. I’m a 6’2 200lb blue eyed blond haired former SF guy, who most people assume is a LEO. They assume I’m conservative because I talk about politics outside of this forum fucking zero, talk about guns, shooting, exercising, and I’m a veteran. At this point it is more fun to rile up a bunch of boomers and
@amlove21 than it is to just ignore everything.
My politics are if anything more libertarian than they are liberal. I have always thought the government had no business in marriage, how people identified or if they wanted to smoke pot Similarly I think that people should be able to own firearms outside of demonstrated criminal propensity for violence. Somehow today that makes me some fucking liberal who wants to Molotov maga, which it isn’t. I say something like “I don’t care how people in NYC vote” because I fucking do NOT, and now I don’t have any principals? Cool. Whatever. I haven’t posted since October, and you know what this place is? A fucking echo chamber.
@amlove21 I’ve been around long enough to know for a fact that your opinions and politics have changed significantly more than mine. That you think it is some kind of moral high ground to stand on because you are so strongly convicted now is comical to me. I have changed my priorities as you have, but to think I am some radical while you and I were basically the same in 2016 is comical. I do respect your excellent rhetorical skills and the fact that you aren’t a passive aggressive retard in your posts. You call it like it is, that is to be respected. But I also know that you openly had very different views in your past. I honestly cannot debate you, you are better at it. Period. I will always lose a rhetorical argument with you. That will never change, but I did like it better when we were on the same side.
The bottom line is not one person here is going to change their minds on anything. You can be shown a memo saying explicitly that members of the federal government will come into your home without a warrant, and be like “that’s cool”. We differ fundamentally, and I remember when being conservative had a lot to do with telling the feds to fuck off.
Now I’m off back to work so I can hopefully pay for another hellfire on the 40% of my income that goes to fund dumb ass shit.
