Little Birds
Anon
From Grenada’s green jungle hilltops
To Mogadishu’s fiery desert sky
Through Panama’s concrete urban sprawl
The Little Bird unwavering did fly.
Whether delivering precious cargo
Or protecting brothers on the ground
Little Bird to hell and back again
Courage, skill and daring in abundance found.
And while not wearing the eagle’s wide wings
Many a furious and deadly surprise
Has been sprung on those foolish enough
To judge this bird by its size
A word of warning to their enemies:
The dark of night is your friend no more
Because Death comes in many forms
And tonight it’s at your door.
