Movies about school shootings - IMDb

I remember watching a movie called Fortress when we were kids. Starred Rachel Ward, Bryan Brown's missus.
Vicious masked crims take a class of young kids and their teacher hostage in the bush, they torment and chase them. At one point the teacher and the kids lose their shit and start hunting down the crims and killing them off.
The last scene a detective is telling the teacher how well they did to escape, but that they never found the heart of the boss crim, then the camera pans to a glass jar at the back of the classroom where the kids have saved it as a memento.
If I'm having a nightmare, those fuckers wearing masks are still half a chance to pop up at some stage...

Re: The Little Things with Denzel Washington and Jarrod Letto.

I am really bummed, I will watch and expect to enjoy Denzel Washington in pretty much anything.

After this movie I’m going to have to go back and watch the equalizer just to cleanse my palate.

Wow - it was -that- bad?

Very surprising and disappointing to hear, especially with Leto and Malek as costars.

Was it just the story itself and the plot direction, or were the actors themselves actually fouling it up too?

While on a 24 last night, Saving Private Ryan came on. Absolutely nothing productive got done while it was on and I don't feel guilty at all. Forgot how intense that movie is.

And then it was immediately followed by The Pacific. Great weekend for watching WWII related shows.

I caught some of Saving...Ryan. I've only seen The Pacific once, but I'd like to see it again, especially after reading Chesty! and Helmet For My Pillow.

Band of Brothers was on last weekend. Even though I have the gift box blu-ray I watched most of it anyway.

Re: The Littlethings.

All of the above. I went in wanting/expecting to love this movie.

I just could not get into it and there were too many scenes where I had to suspend disbelief more than I would expect in a movie with actors of this caliber.

Malek seemed like he was the wrong actor for his part and Leto was underused. It also needed better editing. There were certain things that seem to have been referenced, but very few came to a conclusion. The final act was very challenging to watch.

In one of the One's Ready podcasts (the one about PJs, I think) they mention briefly a movie called Kilo 2 Bravo, about an event in Astan in which PJs had been used. I looked it up, it's a Brit flick and available to stream for free online, so I watched it last night. I enjoyed it, less for the actual storyline (compelling in itself) than the platoon banter and platoon life. That it was a Limey movie made me miss the exchange I did with the Royal Marines, the accents that were hard to understand and the vocabulary about which I had not a clue.

If you're on a British bent at the moment you should look up Kajaki. Based on a real story and seems pretty faithful.
