Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

Gladiator II was really good. 5 out of 5 dead Romans. Strength and honor and stuff..... 8-)
Really? So far I've shied away from seeing it. The combo of seeing only short commercials with Denzel doing the famous "Training Day" leer-and-laugh in a pallium + almost 25 years since the original made it look to me like an over-gimmicked moneygrab.

Then again, I was laid flat by the Mad Max reboot three decades later. Also since reading your post I watched one of the full G2 trailers, and it looks more solid than the 20-second glimpses I saw up to then, so I might give this one a shot soon.

episode...why can't you MF'ers all just go watch the damn movie...

I will watch Horizon because I watch every western I can. I dig'em and we don't get many in theaters these days. I did want to see it in the theater but fucked around and let people talk me out if it. The reviews were harsh, but I'm starting to see people coming around to it now. I hope Costner makes the remaining 3 parts.

The first part of the film is unnecessarily difficult to follow. The story jumps around quite bit more than needed, but it does settle down and is worth your time.

A few of the reviewers I've watched say the same thing and that it would make more sense as a TV series.

The story weaves about 4 character groups together over a span of years. The movie was meant to give a broad look at life during that time as lived by different groups, natives included.

It is a slow movie. There are also several moving action scenes. As for this one, I like the characters and can't wait for part 2.

Ok, so I've been through the twitter deep dive on both Rose and Jenny. I don't see a way to insert a poll in the main software. But, please answer the following two questions:

Was Rose a villain? (Titanic)

Was Jenny a villain? (Forrest Gump)

Never saw Titanic...too long, not my kind of movie. Zero interest.

Jenny...yeah, 100% "villan".

Maybe Jenny, I’m willing to give Rose a pass.

I will add to the topic however, that Daniel was absolutely the aggressor in the Karate Kid.

You can only insert a poll into a new thread, not in the middle of a current discussion.

Consider that Rose sent these fools on an expedition to find a diamond necklace worth a quarter billion that was in her pocket and could have been generationally changing money for her entire family. She had a husband back home, children, and the grand daughter who was on the expedition who had been taking care of her...and she just tossed it down into the ocean.

Also, there was room on the door for Jack.

The comedy "Hundreds of Beavers" is currently free on YouTube.

It's a love letter to old school slapstick like three stooges, looney tunes, Benny Hill, etc.
Might be the funniest film I've seen in years.
