Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

If it's no longer taboo, we'd still have more movies like fill-in-the-blank. People seemed to be offended at so much less. I dunno.
My buddy is as far from woke as you can get, definately not offended in this case. Lol. But yeah, Two things can be true. With the internet and much less censored TV, I agree that its much less taboo. That being said, I haven't met anyone who doesn't laugh at Blazing Saddles.

As a kid I was subjected to entertainment my parents enjoyed which included comedians like Jerry Clower, movies like No Time for Sergeants, and radio such as Paul Harvey. As I got a little older I found material from their generation such as Patrick McMannus to be hilarious, but my dad did not like him for some reason. I still look up Jerry Clower to this day (listing the brothers and "Shoot up here amongs't us, one of us has got to have some relief") are my classics. My dad hated movies like Airplane and Blazing Saddles though I consider them to be some of the funniest movies of all time.

My daughter's head would explode if she watched Blazing Saddles.

Every generation is a bit different, individuals are different. I hated Super Troopers until I watched it a few times (thanks Afghanistan!) but will still laugh at Abbott and Costello's "Who's on first?" skit. To show how the pendulum swings (and the ignorance of youth) the 20's somethings who worth with my wife told her about this amazing song, one of emotion and loss where the singer was pouring out his heart and yada, yada.

Black by Pearl Jam was "discovered" some 30-ish years after the fact. Kate Bush ran up a hill some 40 years afterwards thanks to a shitty TV show I can't recall.

"Cool" entertainment is a weird thing.

Re: John Wick: Ballerina

*** SPOILER POST ***

The timeline doesn’t add up. When he appears at the end of the film, he should’ve been completely preoccupied with dodging a multi-million-dollar bounty. She originally meets him when he’s “punching his ticket” and heading out to Casablanca and Sophia.— so seeing him pop up at the end felt out of place and pulled me out of the story.

Honestly, they would’ve been better off leaving him out of that early scene with her altogether. I’m guessing his appearance will somehow be explained as some allegiance to the Director and Ruska Roma, but his appearance just felt forced.

6 out of 10 ballerina slippers

***. SPOILER POST ***

I finally got to watch it. Best FIRE fight of 2025.

:ROFLMAO:

Chelsea Clinton?
New documentary on Netflix about a text sent to some teens.

She texted her daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend from a random phone number. Told her daughter to go kill her self and basically ruined their lives for over a year by sending 10,000 plus messages with similar statements.

That was nuts, especially her total lack of remorse. I love that the police captured the husband's initial response on body cam.
