Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

I remember the 4th Indiana Jones was shit, but this helped me remember exactly how much shit....

And then how SouthPark took them to task....hard. I still don’t know how they didn’t get sued out of existence.

WARNING - these are SouthPark cartoon, but definitely NSFW -

Could it be DC is actually going to start making good movies? Like the trailer, the love is for the fantastic use of Nirvana.

I think they found that Zack Snyder was too much edge and that a combination of Nolans grittiness and dark realism is the best play. Joker was fantastic and I'm pretty pumped for this as well.

Hot take before reviewing the trailer:
Quit with the Batman reboots. They should have left it alone after the Nolan trilogy, they didn't, and the Dark Knight wave they tried to ride while reinventing the Batman wheel crashed pretty badly and was only marginally redeemed by the actors, who mostly seemed to just be victims of bad character writing and direction.

The last thing they needed was to do another reboot, smudge eyeliner on the guy best-known for playing a vampire that sparkles in sunlight, and then call him Batman.

After seeing the trailer:
I have to really commend them for nailing down the dark ambience, and I like the way they seem they seem to be focusing a little more on character study and development (a la Joker) vs whatever they were thinking in Dawn of Justice.

It was a nice surprise seeing Felix from the most recent 007 series (remember the CIA officer who staked Bond some money during the poker game) showing up as Commissioner Gordon, and he already seems like a good fit.

Still couldn't get over seeing Pattinson in any of the scenes, but seeing him in the eyeliner after he took off his helmet at the end brought to mind a passable Eric Draven casting in a 'The Crow' reboot.

It already looks more promising than the last reboot so I guess I'll go fingers crossed that the plot is good enough to override the jarring effect of seeing Edward Cullen in the Batsuit.
