Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

Just saw Annhilation. The entire last act is like one big Tool music video. Great, trippy movie.

Anything like the books? The Southern Reach trilogy was pretty good.. I'd imagine the movie is just a "inspired by" from what I saw in the trailers.

I saw John Wick 2 the other night...Kewl, loved it, & particularly the first few minutes. I thought this was a bit better though.

I have all the Wallace and Grommet vids and the movie. I enjoyed watching them with my kids...same with Spongebob.

Now I enjoy watching John Wick movies with my kids.

Rented Three Billboards on Prime....very dark, if you're into that. Overall, thought it sucked. I was glad we didn't pay more than $6.

No one agrees with me, but I truly, deeply hated Wonder Woman. It was Barbie playing dress up, and throughout the whole movie, I was furious she wasn’t shot in the legs. Everyone was just moving props to be in awe of her awesomeness, and as a Romance-addict, I cringed at the romance and dialogue between her and the lest than impressive male lead. I refuse to have my girls watch this movie. They love strong female protags, but I just cannot make myself do it. It was too many layers of dumb. Why did we even have to sit through all the non-drama?! She could have crossed her arm guards and BOOM!!!!! The End.

On the flip side, I loved Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road. The non-Romantic chemistry between her and Tom Hardy was so ever romantic... I just appreciated a strong female and male lead that balanced each other, great action scenes and team work... The movie was a little too gross for me at points, but I kept watching anyway.
