I dunno. Honestly, if I’m an A-list actor I couldn’t care less about awards. Pay me my $25 million or so for a movie and fuck your funny statue, y’know?

The amount of money you can make being able to add “Academy Award Winner” to the trailers for upcoming movies is huge. Also, they did a study that found Oscar winners lived and average of three years longer than nominees did. So thesorry got that to think about

No one agrees with me, but I truly, deeply hated Wonder Woman. It was Barbie playing dress up, and throughout the whole movie, I was furious she wasn’t shot in the legs. Everyone was just moving props to be in awe of her awesomeness, and as a Romance-addict, I cringed at the romance and dialogue between her and the lest than impressive male lead. I refuse to have my girls watch this movie. They love strong female protags, but I just cannot make myself do it. It was too many layers of dumb. Why did we even have to sit through all the non-drama?! She could have crossed her arm guards and BOOM!!!!! The End.

They don't even know the movie where I am at now.. Same with the new Annihilation movie.. I didn't realized the Gal Gadot and Natalie Portman were so offensive. Anyone know if the Israelis would ever censor a movie based on an Arab/Muslim actor?

I think at some point the amount of money you have is irrelevant, but I’m interested in the longevity factor you mention. I didn’t know that.

I thought 3 Billboards was excellent, one of the best movies I've seen in a while.

Come on, guys. Really?! The more I think about it the shittier I think it actually was. What was good/likeable about this movie?

It was so contrived. If you get past the over-riding story, it was actually pretty stupid. No one realistically act/talks like any of the main characters in the movie, except maybe the son. Really, none of the characters were particularly likeable. It was like the writers/director were handed a checklist on how to make a dark, quirky, Cohen-brothers like film that was sure to make the "artsy" crowd go "Oooooh, that was deep/brilliant". McDermit's character/acting wasn't even that good; she was wooden and didn't elicit any real empathy.

The trailer was significantly better than the actual movie; I was excited to see it. Glad we didn't waste theater $$$ on it. This movie gets a hard pass in my book.

I think once you've thumped Arab countries everytime they decide to start a war, you stop sweating the small stuff.

No one talks or holds conversations like the vast majority of film or tv. Why do characters have to be likeable? You at first empathize with the mother, then as she becomes more and more violent the deputy changes character and you start to like him more, that or you go all in with the mom. As much as I loved the Cohen brothers they don't have a monopoly on the dark or the quirky, I'm not a film snob by any means and I legitimately enjoyed it. Not once did I feel like it was hamfisting any hidden meanings or messages down my throat to be artsy.

Since "mute" appeared on Netflix, they put "Moon" back on streaming. In one scene of "mute", you can see in the background the Sam Rockwell character of "Moon" testifying on TV screens, along with his clones.

I’m not quite getting your post.

I didn't find Gal Gardot offensive. I don’t hate the actress, but she didn’t inspire me. I hate the Wonder Woman, the movie. I do blame the script, the director and everything that produced the output which was a empty story of a woman bounding around in a shiny bustiere while everyone was just extras. I found the treatment of World War I component shallow. Such a big budget to make one woman ‘look’ unrealistically good. I wished it made more sense even by Super Hero standards. So today I asked another woman’s opinion, I’ve been asking men, who all look at me like I’m overly harsh. I turned to my left and asked the quirky lady next to me. After having a fun chat to her about her doll collection, I asked her opinion on if she enjoyed Wonder Woman. Her answer was to scrunch her nose and reply, ‘Not really.’

I’m just not getting the high rating.
