There is probably a miscommunication here. The Senate Intel committee can meet and discuss the nomination in a SCIF, and can certainly hear testimony from the nominee and others in a SCIF, but there’s absolutely no way a vote on the open floor of the senate would (or could) be kept secret. They might be talking about the Senate committee vote, which is typically just a thumbs-up or thumbs-down recommendation to the larger senate.Holding a vote in the SCIF? I can see having the discussion in a SCIF, maybe. But voting? No, we need that out in the open.
