The way they handled his dementia and subsequent election debacle, I don't think they had a plan for anything. I think they had hopes and dreams once they knew they'd backed the wrong horse(s). They knew they could bury the cancer, but once his dementia was unavoidable to even diehard fans it fell apart, and they didn't know what to do. I even question them keeping her if Biden's re-elected. Swap out the VP candidate like FDR did in '44. I think they knew as early as 2022 they had problems with Biden-Harris but were stuck and had to play it out.

Tyson's quote about everyone has a plan until they are punched in the mouth comes to mind. The only difference here is they punched themselves.

Eh, I think he's just old as shit and they stopped testing. It fits with the general sort of incompetence I'd expect.

If it was a known and hidden thing, then its just another in the long tradition of hiding disabilities and medical issues in presidents.

Less concerned about hiding cancer than the (allegedly) very advanced dementia.

Every medical metric in the world supports that you don't get tested less or see doctors less as you get older- you see them way more. You get tested way more.

A 1st year med student could (and would) direct and perform the blood test or prostate check that would identify this problem with a 99% accuracy. Every dude on this board gets (or should get) routine prostate exams and bloodwork- and your position here is the White House medical staff just missed a prostate cancer so bad that it magically showed up with a Gleason score of 9 and metastasized to the bone because they said he was old? I get Hanlon's Razor (assume incompetence before maliciousness)- but that dog just absolutely does not hunt here.

The dementia/mental decline and cancer are linked. Drugs commonly used to treat this sort of cancer have severe impacts on cognition and overall mental health, and fatigue. So that makes sense why Biden called a lid at 1100 daily and took more vacation days (577, more than any president in 50 years, roughly 39% of his entire presidency. He was in treatment. It's a "chicken/egg" question on which one started first or was exacerbated by the other, but the facts remain. Everything that Biden has done- from autopen pardons to trade agreements to EO's to formalized policy- must now be questioned in the light of the fact that he was not mentally competent.

I think you're probably correct if we are starting the timeline after the debate that led to Biden's ouster.

I just can't believe that DOCTOR JILL BIDEN missed this one! (Kidding, she's a ghoul and should be mocked, shamed, and left to live on a hypothetical island of irrelevancy forever).

The only way you go from nothing to metastatic cancer is if you don't look for it. Given that almost every man over 50 gets a PSA at least once a year, it's impossible they missed the prostate cancer. Impossible. You don't even need a biopsy or imaging, just the blood test. Once those numbers go north of 4, 4.5, it's game on with all of it: biopsy, imaging, surgery, chemo, radiation. And also given that those numbers trend high and don't go from 1 to 4.5 quickly and that metastatic disease is a result of long-term disease, he's had it more than a minute.

I don't know that dementia is related to treatment. I think his mental decline is parallel to, not because of, his cancer.

Yep- some drugs like Lupron have wide ranging side effects. Fatigue, depression- it's not a great drug. 2016/2017 studies out of JAMA and the Journal of Clinical oncology studies list some pretty serious impacts to dementia; but of course, those are disputed for a number of reasons.

Like I said- I think both things are true at the same time. Dude was old, probably had dementia, got the diagnosis, entered treatment, and declined rapidly before our eyes.

They knew from the beginning that he wasn’t up to complaining, much less serving as President. That’s why they kept him in the basement. He started off in a competence hole and the political-media complex just let him keep digging.
