The Trump Presidency 2.0

About to hop in my car so can't look this up:

Anything where it shows how these reductions fit in with the 8% overall?

E.G., 83% reduction in carjacking =3% of all crime.

That's not me poo-pooing on anything, just being a number nerd.

Checks to see why the sky is falling today... ah yes, federalizing LE in DC.

Don't care, it's not happening in Vegas. Whatever is happening in some city far away does not affect me.

Also you within days of actively not caring about that thing happening in that far away city:
DC murders? None.
Looks like Trump was right again.
Suck it, liberals.
(That’s a haiku, I try hard for you people).

National Guard's presence slashes D.C. crime rates, with seven days homicide-free
Crime data (not just murder) correlates too. And when the guard leaves... what you wanna bet there is a return to the norm?

It's almost like (follow me here) increased police presence provides a deterrent that allows people with agency, even bad ones, to make more virtuous decisions. Crazy to explore.

And Bowser suuuuuuuuucks. That's just a personal observation.

I understand the confusion but that was sarcasm brother, referencing earlier posts. The point he was making in this post (and for context, in some earlier ones) is that things that happen in other places in America, and to other American people, matter to us no matter where we live in America.

*WHOOSH*

I think I've recently run into a few too many people outside of here who earnestly think that way, and so his usual deadpan caught me lacking. Thanks for clearing that up M.

My bad, and sorry for the misread @amlove21.

It is stuff like this where I sometimes question my Trump vote. He fires the people who do not provide him the data that he wants to see, or dares publicly disagrees with him. It is so frustrating, and does not makes for good government.

Many of my more conservative friends will barely acknowledge my existence anymore because they get angry when I call these out. If a Democratic president was doing/saying much of what Trump does, they would be out of their collective minds.

Did the NYT say that he was fired because of the "contradicting" report?

FBI searches home and office of ex-Trump national security adviser John Bolton

WASHINGTON (AP) — The FBI on Friday searched the Maryland home and Washington office of former Trump administration national security adviser John Bolton as part of a criminal investigation into the potential mishandling of classified information, a person familiar with the matter said.

You bitch in private, toe the company line in public. If you are a FOGO you shouldn't complain in public.

Why would this incomplete, speculative initial report, in a biased source, cause you to question your support for President Trump?

Brother this is the New York Times, nearly everything they produce about President Trump is either incomplete, negatively framed, or a flat out lie. We don't need to go down the list.

The facts will come out over time. In the meantime,

1) I don't believe them
2) I don't care

There's zero trust from both sides, even the middle see's it finally. We can say a broken clock is at least right twice a day, but we ain't having that as well because the divide is that deep.

Meanwhile we keep voting for the very things that unsettled the left, and they keep insulting and name calling us on social medias and when you follow the sources to their profiles they cry and cry that the other side won't listen to them. Now apply this to modern day "journalism" (yellow media) that practically does all of the above, and it's why we're all at this junction of tomfoolery. They get upset too at not being listened to just as much.

It's a hard pill to swallow but trust but verify your "news" sources, ladies & gents. Going back to news being presented without sides taken and actually letting us to decide for ourselves is unfortunately a thing of the past.

The wailing and gnashing of teeth over Bolton is hilarious. It's not like they showed up with a tactical team that was authorized to use deadly force and went through his children's rooms or his wife's underwear drawer. Cry me a river. You set the precedent, now the other team is playing by your rules and suddenly it's a bridge too far? It's like these people are willingly obtuse or actually retarded.

As for the crime rate in DC, @Cookie_ , pretty easy numbers there right? If you take a percentage of overall crime (in this context let's say carjacking is 5% of total crime) that is a small part of a larger percentage of crime, you could reduce it 100% and still see an overall 5% reduction, right?

Carjacking is down 83%, but 100% of carjacking only plays a fractional part of a larger crime epidemic. If 60% of the overall crime was shoplifting, and we stopped 100% of the shoplifting, then that's a 60% reduction in total.

Only in America can a reduction in crime not be a reduction in crime because that particular crime is a single digit percentage. I'm not applying this to our forum, I see it in the news and online.

"Crime is down."
"No it's not. Carjackings are at an all time high!"
"Good thing I didn't say 'carjackings' isn't it, you fucking twit?'

They sound so juvenile, all this because they have an over inflated ego and don't want to think for once that they were wrong and Trump was right. Trump ain't perfect but JFC some of these boneheads are rather ignorant and willing to cut off their noses to spite their face.

I believe the Brits would call this one, being a pillock.

It's not down!... ok it IS down, but not in this specific category... ok it IS down in that category too, but it's fascist... know what? That crime rate was actually good.

Classic disconnect between the People and the elites. The mayors and talking heads are all saying "I dont know what you mean we don't have a crime problem!" while the people are cheering for the reduction in crime and safer streets.

This weekend alone in Chicago, 6 people died (including children) and 27 more were injured in shootings across the city. Worst Mayor in the Country, Brandon Johnson, says his city is going to riot to resist a possible NG deployment. His child constituents are being murdered in the streets, and his response is... protests to keep the crime going?

As an aside but tangentilly related, Gavin Newsom continues his self-own presidential candadicy by alleging the top 10 cities in America are all in red states (this is factually accurate) and is apparently blissfully unaware that they all have democratic leadership, save 1, who just put a republican in as mayor in recent history.

He has merch that looks exactly like Trump, is tweeting like Trump, acting like Trump... it's super weird.
