I think MilTwitter and its related activities are useful, important even. Maybe this kind of this is a start of accountability in the community, which will make all of us better. "Just be who you are."

I deleted my earlier rant because I ain't SF. But too many people hurt and killed for him to get a pass on the PH and BSM-V. He knew goddam well what he was doing.

You don't need to be SF to call out wrong. Plus, you have earned the credibility to do so. As far as the tab, that community will figure that out and that is none of my business.
Back in the day in the Navy reserve you could submit civilian qualifications and schools that went towards a navy equivalent; you might have to take a few extra classes to make up the navy difference. I had upper-level NAUI and PADI dive courses and was told all I needed to do was to do a practical dive with a navy diver and I could get the basic SCUBA bubble. I did that, and have a letter saying so. But I still feel weird about it because I didn't actually go to the school, so I never followed up and wore the device.
Wrong is wrong no matter how you slice it.

Agreed, but I've learned something here. I've always considered tabs, badges, and awards something a service member earns by completing a course or an achievement. Something that once you've earned it, you dont have to give it back because no matter what, you completed the one time task required task to earn it. @Box has enlightened me on the idea that this is something you have to earn everyday and that makes sense to me. But, its just perspective and of course none of my business.
I think this is a much needed correction for the MilTok space. TK fallout is going to be wide reaching- not just for folks that are aggrandizing themselves, but for the whole space in general.
There are folks out there doing it the "right" way, and there are folks out there that saw an opportunity to make some cash and build their personal brand. The latter cohort should be concerned.

Badges, tabs, and awards are administrative actions which, like rank, can be taken away in certain circumstances.
Revoking an SF tab is a big deal, but seems to be a pretty straightforward process, requiring only a DA Form 4187 and a commander's signature:
