United States & Gun Control discussion.

A much more accurate headline would have been, “The FBI routinely releases misleading data”

It’s got nothing to do with shootings or terrorism or jaywalking - it’s just how the Stasi controls the narrative so they can pursue their own goals and interests

…now, mask up and get your boosters

The author has drilled down across the board which is great. Re-examine the data sets across the board will get a definitive picture. If it’s done year on year there’ll be a clearer pattern. Is there another organisation in the US that handles this type of data?

The New Mexico governor has voided second amendment rights by uttering it so, for 30 days making it illegal to carry guns. Social media is going nuts, and a NM politician has already filed for impeachment.
I read about that earlier. Completely mindless decision. "Gun crime is too high, so we're taking away people's ability to defend themselves!"

What's banning open and legal concealed carry going to do? I guess we could start with pulling the number of people with concealed carry permits who were the perpetrators of any of these recent gun crimes. I'm guessing the number is about... zero.

The issues are many and multiple, not the least of which is her logical assumption connecting her actions with a decrease in gum crime.

Then there is unilaterally suspending the Constitution. If I were a New Mexican citizen, I would absolutely do it and then bring a massive lawsuit to bear when I got caught. I saw an article that said many law enforcement agencies were not going to comply or enforce.

Yep. That's why these "public health emergencies" are so fraught. Anything can be a public health emergency, and apparently at least one politician thinks that a public health emergency is a license to strip rights away from citizens. It's bullshit.
