New Mexico Republican legislators call for Dem Gov. Grisham's impeachment after gun order: 'She's rogue'

Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., weighed in on Grisham's executive order, saying it's unconstitutional.

"I support gun safety laws. However, this order from the Governor of New Mexico violates the U.S. Constitution. No state in the union can suspend the federal Constitution. There is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution," Lieu said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

David Hogg, who advocates for stricter gun laws, said on X "I support gun safety but there is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution."

So much to unpack in those quotes, but I'll take them at face value for now because I don't fell like rabbit holes, cynicism, and rambling at this early hour. A world where David Hogg says your gun control is illegal? I never thought I'd see that.

I expect Hogg to follow up that comment with something like “…that’s why we need a NATIONAL public health emergency to deal with gun violence.”
 
New Mexico is such a strange place. It is incredibly rural with crazy drug problems in Albuquerque. Yet there's enough idiots living in the Capital that vote for Democrats to make them a blue state. The drug problems have only gotten worse. I do wonder what will happen here in AZ with a super liberal and racist Democrat as a governor though. So fsr we've not changed much because the legislature is still Republican but that can change rapidly.
 

It's all good that law enforcement will not enforce this, though, when push comes to shove, pensions matter to cops.

You know fucking sure, the gestapo, I mean, state police will do this cunts bidding, like how our state police in PA did Gov. Wolf's bidding during the plandemic.

The mear fact that this POS thinks it's OK to violate civil rights and that her shill legal team allowed this, proves that they are coming to take our guns.

I'm pro 2A. I want you and I to be able to own any gun we want. But the best way this works is maintaining a government that respects our rights. That's why I worry about election integrity right now.

Yeah, nah. It is control and idiots go along with it because they've bought into the lies and propaganda.

Here's the thing too: COVID has us not trusting the CDC, right? Still, would anyone argue with the order of deaths above? The numbers maybe, but not the list. Our own gun-hating liberal government can't even find enough deaths to make gun violence crack the top 10. It can't even lie hard enough to make it a top 10 killer of Americans.

You want to help kids? Make PE mandatory in schools again. Leave our Second Amendment alone and STFU about gun control.
