There's been a bit of jackassery on the board lately, so it's time for another gentle reminder concerning one of my favorite topics, professionalism.

This site was started by and for professionals. Professionals come from all walks of life, military and civilian, male and female. All are entitled to respect.

Some of the best threads on this site evolved because two or more thoughtful, well-informed, and professional individuals disagreed about a topic. This site does not encourage nor condone groupthink, but at the same time it does not accept...

A friend on there said he owned up to it and last count was 30 I think. he then got a ban from that section of the site from something else.

The bet was that Harris wasn't going to be the DNC replacement for Biden after he dropped out.

I don't like it. It's tantamount to rule by Executive Order, which I also oppose. Is it allowed? Of course. Should it be done? Only in the case of a true emergency.

They aren't recess appointments yet, but it is what Trump's pushing for. I had forgot about this peculiarity, but recess appointments are only good for one congressional session. He'd have to have all of his nominations go through the process anyways.

As This article points out:

There’s a critical question underpinning Trump’s litmus test here: Republicans only need 50 votes to confirm nominees for his full term or for lifetime positions in the federal bench, so why would he need recess appointments, anyway?

One possible answer is that Trump is considering nominees he isn’t sure can win 50 out of 53 Republican votes... Here’s another way of looking at the recess appointments conundrum: Trump would need 50 votes to change the rules and make them easier … but he’d also need 50 votes to simply confirm any individual nominee who might require a rules change.

So unless he's really desperate for Gaetz (who's already getting slight R pushback) it seems to not be a more effective way of doing anything.
