Your 2024 Presidential Election Thread

There's a lot of people taking the 51st state shit way to serious. If you think the anti-Trump crowd down there is rabid, the ones up here are fucking insane. They only watch or read the government funded media, so it's all anti-Trump.
I think the idea of a 51st is stupid as fuck. Makes more sense that it becomes a US territory instead. Keeps the stars on the flag balanced, ya know?

When I see them on facebook on a hot topic, it's either anti Trump or anti guns. I always reply with "lol, you still can't vote or control what goes on down here and stuck in the nosebleed seats".

That's what usually makes them rage. But if they decide to engage with me, I do another shit post:

"You actually think being vitriolic and arguing with me using fallacies is going to bend my POV to yours? How Canadian of you. You sound vaccinated, boosted, and a fan of Trudeau."

Bonus points for finding in their profile about loving others and empathy and then screenshot it at them asking to "Explain the insults here and this on your profile, because they don't match up, eh?"

lulz.

Besides - it would actually be an addition of 10 states and 3 territories...
...can you imagine how many electoral votes they'd get as a single state with 41 million voters?

C'mon man - you know - the thing

One thing that struck me about (most) Canadians - they put a LOT of trust in institutional sources. While I can understand putting a certain level of trust in government experts, the prevailing belief that the media was generally beyond reproach and would need a world-altering motivation to lie to them was truly staggering.

I would think some Canadians would appreciate Trump's attempt to strengthen ties with the US, because that's all this is. But hey, I guess the orange man is still orange.

I put this in the podcast thread but it's relevant here. This is Pierre Poilievre (our future Prime Minister and Conservative leader) talking to Jordan Peterson. It's the portion that was behind the Daily Wire paywall. He talks about how he plans to negotiate with Trump and makes complete sense.

The majority of leftists in our country trusted everything CNN, NPR, MSNBC, The NY Times and the Biden administration told them, and that their MSM news sources were beyond reproach. These were the sources that for four years buried videos of Uncle Joe’s dementia moments. That’s why they were so shocked when he had the debate meltdown.

Wait, but I thought Trump was "literally Hitler" and was like the "disinformer-in-chief" or whatever. So now you're saying that HE is the one that's all about "free expression?"

Interesting.

They've seen how supporting (or sucking up to) Trump has benefited others, I.E. Musk.

What's more likely? They've stopped believing Trump is bad, or it's all sycophantic gestures for them to keep/gain more power?

ETA: If there's on characteristic of Trump's personality that I think most people can agree on, it's that his ego is very easy to massage. Zuck/Bezos can very easily go from enemy to trusted advisors if they

The Canada thing is just part of the comedy act.

But Greenland's a good idea. Get Greenland away from Denmark and the EU and you can control the northern shipping lanes. Top that with oodles of natural resources including uranium, platinum, titanium....a full menu of iums.

Then you reverse the Dane's ban on oil and gas exploration and go nuts.

Besides, I've always wanted to visit Nuuk.

Remember the old USAF base at Thule? Home to these babies BITD.

Now it's a USSF base.

So does this mean we will have to learn French? Or can we just beat that nonsense out of our new American brothers???

I am actually all for those Canucks becoming America's. I like Canada, like the people, even if they are retarded and vote for stupid political leadership.

Hell between, Canada, Greenland, old Mexico, I think we are starting to shape things up good and proper.
