I fundamentally reject the binary proposition offered and propose a third option: that Trump was never as bad as the Left tried to portray in the first place and they spent the last 8+ years lying to the world about that, and countless other things, and now it has been laid bare and they know there will be a reckoning.

I also don't agree that Trump's ego is very easy to massage. I do know that a whole lot of people have underestimated him for a long time, and that casually reducing him, and his followers, to caricatures contributed to him being elected president twice.

The "enemy to trusted advisors" thing is kind of how American politics work. As far back as Abraham Lincoln and continuing to Presidents Obama (Clinton as SecState), Biden (Harris, who called him a racist, as his VP), and yes Trump, "team of rivals" is more or less the default setting.

I'm with you in this and it shows the Democrat/Liberal reality in the US and Canada. Both were the true to the definition Fascist regime, before they changed the definition of Fascism. Both controlled/manipulated private corporations to censor and push propaganda for their personal benefits.

The Corrupticons in the republican party can not always be depended on to represent the best interests of their conservative base - but when they blocked the conformation and ascension of Merrick Garland to the highest court in the land they did a far greater service to American justice than most will ever admit or recognize.

Cannon can "block the release" all he wants - but now that Garland has stated that he is going to release it - "We the People" can bet our shiny metal asses that it is going to get released.
...even if it is surreptitiously leaked to the media first

Who knows - maybe that report can be leaked to the media to help "drive an investigation" that can later be used to help impeach the president.
