Once when I was in the mid-west I saw a car with an OBX sticker. I got excited; I was born and grew up in the southern most area of the Outer Banks. I asked the driver when he had gone there, he said never, it was just a cool sticker. I did not know it was a thing.

In Southern California, a notable gang wear Cincinnati Reds hats. Being from the Cincinnati area myself, and a Reds fan, I noticed it everywhere I went. But after a couple of times, I learned not too ask about It. LOL.

You should check out UTMB or worse the Barkleys Marathon. Fuck that noise.

There was a show on Netflix about the Barkley event. It's an ultra, not a 'regular' marathon. And brutal. I worked with a radiologist who was into ultras, and it was the only one he couldn't finish.

It sounds cool in theory--I have done some short-distance adventure races and OCRs--but this one is just nuts.
