Gaming thread

Qualified for the two final rounds of the pubg pro league qualifier. We had a tough bracket with arguably the best pro team, Check 6, and SIGIL, along with other pro teams in our group and ended up locking our spot in with a 1st place finish and 14 kills game 1 and a 5th place finish with maybe 7 kills game 2, capped it off w/ 8th place finishes in games 3+4. We only played with 3 people in our squad games 3+4 due to one guy having to go on his shift, and the next two days the squad will be 3 manning since I have a holiday party tonight and tomorrow another guys law firm has their party Friday. We out killed every other team but Adept which was nice to see. Our team is a couple guys who have played CS together for a while and just screw around, we wanted to see how we would stack up against the pros in this game and have some fun.

We still need to do some SS drops.

Just bought and tried me some Insurgency Sandstorm, which is currently a beta, and I love it. A huge improvement over the previous game. Looks better, feels better, sounds much better, is more challenging, also a little more brutal. The way ppl drop looks incredibly realistic. Haven't seen ragdoll physics like that, also some limited gore. Just about the right amount, not overdone. Cherry on top are the moans, screams, situational comments and reactions of the AI ( both yours/allied and enemy ). Like when they are being surpressed, wounded or funniest to me when you're the only one left of your team, your character be like: "...oh shit ...." or ".... Do you copy ? ... hell, where is everyone .... !?" and that badass 'last man' theme start playing. ^^ Another cool feature is cosmetic options of your character and choice between male/female which feels much more natural compared to other games because the design is vaguely based on ongoing conflicts like Syria or countries like Afghanistan.

tl;dr - It's a lot of fun. Can definitly recommend.

War of Rights. Still in Alpha. If you're also a fan of historical games and particularily want to play the US civil war, this is def a must try. The community is great and hilariously in character like reenactors. You instantly get into it and follow commands. The battles are awesome. The gameplay seems pretty authentic. Realistic shooting, reloading, and marching mechanics. For being still in early dev, it def can show itself.

Steam's holiday sale is on, designed to steal money from the proletariat and redistribute it to the bourgeois ruling class. Blindly propping up The Man, I bought Civilization 6 at a deep discount....the only way I'd buy the game.

- Not a bad game, but I still think Civ 5 is the best of the series.
- Mods really make it work. If you won't run mods, don't buy the game. Sad, but that's the series these days. Many RTS' to be honest.
- It is a good game with only 8 hours in and much improved over the demo I played shortly after release.
- The learning curve can be steep. Don't be frustrated with your first few games.
- Worth the 19 bucks for the deluxe peasant whatever version with the additional nations. The base model is 14 or 15.

I think it will be a good game once I figure out its quirks, mods to run, etc. Do not pay full price for this game though. Stick it to the man, buy it on sale.

I've been playing Elite Dangerous with my buddy. They introduce deep core mining of asteroids and planetary belts. Just one haul allowed me to upgrade to a significantly better ship.

Outside of that. Been trying Skyrim VR modded.. Looks like most of the mods that work for special edition work for the VR version.

Back when I had a gaming computer I put so many hours into that game, I generally go for PVP in MMO's but I loved to just mine/explore/smuggle with some music in the background.

I’m not much of a real gamer. Want to get something that the twins (16) and I can play together via XBox1. Thinking Red Dead2.

Question:
- can we each have our own save file so we can each play our own game

As long as you buy an actual disc copy of the game, you can have multiple profiles, each with their own saved files. If you go this route, I'd buy three seperate external SSD's, one for each profile.

Why not just agree to play from different save games? The game lets you have multiple save files. Pretty sure you can do that with the downloadable copy of the game too, but I always prefer disk versions anyway.

This is more what I am looking for.

just have them create their own Xbox live or local xbox accounts, when one plays they can log into their account with no issues or chance of playing someone else's save.

Yes, but you need a disc for this. Otherwise, if you download a copy of the game it will only work for the profile that downloaded it.

Downloaded RedDead2 for the boys and I to play. First 'real' game I've played in years....holy shit the graphics.
Just starting it tonight.
