Gaming thread

I had played the shit out of GTA V on PS3, when I hit a PS4 I bought GTA V again for the FPS aspect of it, then basically never played it. I started again this week though. It is a fun game though.
I would say the biggest difference between GTA and Wildlands is that in GTA you're inherently a bad character vs Wildlands you can choose. I haven't played enough to see the long term effects of Those choices though. I'm not sure if it's an "if/then" type of story change or if it's more fluid than that.

I play it on the toughest mode and find it pretty challenging (Xbox). Find some people to replace the AI as well and it bring s reconnaissance and planning aspect to taking down the 1000's of objectives. The flying in the game is garbage ( the choppers are okay, but the fixed wing doesn't make any sense. They're pretty unstable) and I wish they did take a page from GTA.

I got Ghost Recon Wildlands. I disliked it at first played it semi aimlessly for a day or so. Since then I restarted the campaign with a purpose, and I enjoy the game. I really think it needed a tutorial. Maybe a mini mission or something before the main campaign.

I've bought ARMA3 a few weeks back. That's been pretty fun. The sounds are pretty good, I like the echoes in the valleys. Been playing a scenario called Hunter Six, which is, naturally, a SEAL team hunting an HVT. The whole thing is completely randomised so you end up with a new game each time.

Quoting myself too. The flying is garbage as @ShadowSpear pointed out. Once you get used to the helicopters they are ok... airplanes are almost impossible though...

They need to work on the AI team mates in Wildlands. Whenever I'm downed inside a vehicle they try to revive me inside the vehicle and it blows up.
And I agree the flying controls are pretty awful. And the parachuting dynamics. I can't land in a specific area. The motorcycle driving is almost not do-able as well...

But I like the game.

I do enjoy the game. It becomes semi monotonous though. You can almost plan the missions the same way. Recon, pick off snipers, mortar the main element, the sync shoot the stragglers...

Ya. I'd say that's the most fool-proof strategy. Luring them towards a car alarm or your drone noisemaker and using a LMG works pretty well too.
I almost think they should've marketed it as a Splinter Cell game instead. It's definitely geared towards stealth.

I won't lie I bought the gun dlc, the MK.48 in that game(like in real life) is a gamechanger

I'm also not claiming it isn't fun...

My main gripes are the flying, and I often get stuck between rocks when trying to reach high ground. You either have to reload or kill your self to start over. It is a super annoying glitch.... I guess the beta testers weren't always trying to find the highest ground...

Now I just find a helicopter(which are everywhere) and fly to the nearest mountaintop SEAL style...

Apparently if you upgrade the "vehicle drop off" rebel skill you can request a helicopter. I need to do more of those raids...
I've had my fair share of issues with the game. I'm sure they'll patch it. I keep trying to BASE jump and it won't let me deploy a chute. And my AI superhero pals can't get off the cliff.

Lol getting stuck between the rocks happens way too often. I wish they'd iron out these types of bugs before releasing the games.

Xboxers, You're all invited to join my crime family when/if GTA VI comes out. Together we shall wreak havoc and rule whatever city it is we're in.

Last thing about Wildlands: some of the side missions are way harder than the story missions. I have been getting Crushed trying to upgrade my mortar skill for like 2 days.
