I've seen the beta played a few times and it looks promising, if a little cartoon-y. Like a Team Fortress of the high seas lol. Still looks like it might be fun.

You're going to go far in the Air Force.
Been on a bit of a gaming kick lately. I don't fuck with the online stuff, I just play campaigns. Replayed a lot of the CODs, and am currently working on Homefront: The Revolution. One of the more enjoyable games I've played. I enjoy the insurgency/survival storyline a lot.

But, for full disclosure....I do use a mouse and controller (Venom X) for my PS4 and Xbox. I grew up on computer games and hate using the controllers.
Why don't you log into Shadowspear on your console and tell us how that works out?

Anyone picked up and tried Stellaris? It is on sale this weekend and it looks interesting, but I dunno.
Its fun, at times. I don't have a lot of experience with 4X games, but Stellaris seems to be more of a waiting festival than other games in the genre, even other from Paradox. If you do get it, I'd say that Leviathans and Utopia change the game enough to be worth buying (don't own Synthetic Dawn or Apocalypse, so I can't comment on those), and I'd even go as far to say that Utopia is a must have because of the Ascension Perks that it adds, letting you advance further down the Synthetic, Biological and Psionic trees than you could in the base game. While I haven't played it myself, I have several friends who prefer Endless Space 2 for a space 4x game. It doesn't have a sale on steam going on at the moment, though.

I picked up stellaris during a humble bundle a little bit ago. Was going to give it a try on my next stint deployed.

Is it turn based or RTS? I am having a hard time finding out. Not sure how I would like turn-based games. It seems way too slow to be enjoyable. That's why I like RTS and why when Endless Space 2 was on sale over the holidays, I skipped it.
It's a real time grand strategy game, so while not as fast paced as say Starcraft or Command and Conquer, it's not turn based. If you've played other Grand Strategy games by Paradox you'll get the same thing here, however you can always change the settings to increase the speed of gameplay so your experience is what you make of it.
Paradox makes amazing RTS' and then has one of the worst DLC policies known to man.
Yeah their DLC policy puts triple AAA publishers like EA and Activision to shame.
But really if you're going to let a $19.99 reskin pack for only 5 models get in the way of your hedonism and being excommunicated by the Pope then proceeding to topple all of Christendom out of spite, well, quite frankly I question your commitment.
