Gaming thread

Looking forward to this game....it will be avail for PC and peasants, on PS5 and Xbox.

Loved the books and series...there is a lot to live up to on this game.

The Expanse: Osiris Reborn

No way ! I only very recently started the Mass Effect trilogy and was thinking how cool it would be to have a "The Expanse" game / series like that.

Has anyone played Helldivers 2? Looking for a new game to get into.

Yeah, its a fun Starship Trooper / 40k-esque straight into the meatgrinder 3rd person shooter. Playable solo but really meant for 4 player coop. Expect lots of friendly fire "accidents" and retries, but its all ( or mostly ) in good humor and part of the satire, rather than just trolling.

I was switching between that and Space Marine 2 for a while. HD2 gave me the "Guardsman" experience, while SM2 the DOOM like power fantasy. Especially once you figure it out.

What makes you think this? There's almost nothing from the game out.

Call it a feeling.. it's trending to follow in the footsteps of Suicide Squad, Concord, Star Wars: Outlaws, Unknown 9, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Avowed, Babylon's Fall, Redfall, Forspoken, etc... A lot of these have something in common from an outside influence. Although there's no confirmation they had their hands in Intergalactic, it definitively looks like it. We'll see if the current cultural climate saves it.

Honestly, Bungie needs to stick to Destiny and make that work before they try ANYTHING else. Sunsetting 3.0 is not something I'm currently a fan of...and that is their plan for the future XD

Nope, sorry. I took a break from 1st person shooters and started getting into Diablo 4.

D4's biggest problem is build variety over the last few seasons. Some changes have happened, but not broad enough to really shake up build types. This season's Hydra Sorc is cool, Necro's buffed minions (skeletal mages) has potential, and the Spiritborn have a poison thorns build that is supposed to be good, but I'm not a fan. I think Druid has a new-ish build, but I usually play Sorc or Necro.

Barb was nuked into the sun when Blizzard killed Overpower buffs and Rogue is not a pit pushing build right now.

I started off as a Rogue but it seemed like the class was super fragile and not much for ranged support attacks. I went and done a Barbarian to tank. Seems to peak and not matter much after a certain paragon number is reached. Reason I said that last part is that I ran with a dude that as a 174 and a quarter lower than me in Paragon was running super fast and doing superman hits of death. I was a bit upset.

Apologies if you already know this (I try not to presume a person's knowledge of a topic), but go to mobalytics.gg and look up a meta build. It appears Lunging Strike is the Barb's best build this season. I cannot speak to the gear needed, but mobalytics should have you covered.

You have my permission to treat me like I'm an idiot playing this and doing it all wrong.

That helps, thanks. I'm only on my second season in so far.

Not my intent. I know games these days are more "feature rich" than they were even a decade ago, especially games like Destiny 2, Diablo 3 and 4, Borderlands, etc. when it comes to theory crafting and build mechanics. I've seen dudes take grand strategy games like Hearts of Iron 4 and the like and work the math to find the most efficient division structure. D4 has 6 classes, 72 skill points, 8 paragon boards, and up to 300 paragon points (the last 75 are a nightmare to grind) at a minimum before you even try to choose a skill tree and min-max your gear.

I would absolutely refuse to play those games without a build guide. I have 6 years and over 6,000 hours in Destiny 2, and STILL look up build guides every season.
There are other build sites out there like Icy Veins, but I prefer mobalytics. Youtube is another great resource for finding builds and seeing them in action, plus game mechanic guides.

We would totally be besties IRL. Like, are you coming over to my place or am I going to yours to LAN and eat pizza?

Halo 3 and Xbox parties in the barracks. Hearing that random "I killed you!" followed up by some other random a floor above "I'm surprised you were even able to at all without screen watching!" during barracks checks on staff duty was a highlight.

Myself and my buddy are in a clan of two, name is The Narcoleptic Ninjas. Join us haha.

I have no clue what any of those things are and will have to check out thanks. Tomorrow we're off so I will give it a look.

Those are pieces used in the builds I linked to, so if you're at level 60 you can strap those on and roll.
GA = Greater Affix, a property like life or armor that rolls higher than a normal version of the weapon.
