Government Waste and Corruption thread

I'll break this down not because y'all are stupid, far from it, but you aren't nerds. I'm a nerd.

DOGE is targeting "probationary" employees. How? Simple database queries. Basic shit, stuff you can Google. Without dragging you into the details, say you have a form that asks you certain details
First Name
Last Name
Address
State

That sits in a data base with other data. We don't care about that. If we want to find everyone who lives in...call it Georgia. You write some VERY BASIC statements and ask for everyone who lives in Georgia. BOOM! The database replies and now you can target your marketing towards everyone in your database who lives in Georgia.

These wunderkids aren't doing anything revolutionary. They are doing very basic shit and being praised for having access to data and writing basic queries. The results matter, but frankly a moron can do what they are doing.

ETA: are vs. aren't

This is not staying within the spirit of the thread.

I’ve deleted yours posts because you insist on not following simple instructions.
You literally deleted posts about government corruption and child experimentation.

@ShadowSpear Can I get some help restoring some old postings?

I’ve deleted most of that post as well.

Your tag to the forum owner remains because I serve at his discretion and am fully transparent in my role as a staff member. Since this forum was revived years ago and I was asked to join the staff, I’ve spent years advocating for you, mentoring you, and working behind the scenes to keep you as part of this community.

In return, you’ve resisted my attempts every step of the way. This is not Q-Anon, Infowars, or Gateway Pundit. This is ShadowSpear, a forum dedicated to mentoring young men pursuing an SOF career in the military. We maintain political threads because they are relevant, and for the most part, members with different perspectives can engage without significant conflict.

Moving forward, I don’t believe this forum aligns with what you’re seeking. I encourage you to find a space that better suits your interests. This is not a threat, just a reality. If you continue posting in the same manner, I will permanently revoke your posting rights.

I'm serious.

Our commander sends out updates when he has them. Excerpts from this week's. Bold is my emphasis on his words.

- The new information and changes continue to come quickly – so fast that even at the highest levels of leadership, sometimes our Chain of Command hears about new directives from the news or X at the same time all the rest of us do.
- Based on the direction to meet with DOGE, as well as what we see happening at the other government departments, [our MAJCOM] has decided to enter a hiring pause until we get a little more clarity on the way ahead (hopefully this week). Note, this is a pause – no actions should be cancelled at this time…but none should be advanced/started either. If we have already extended offers, we will honor them and continue the onboarding process. We are doing this out of an abundance of caution due to what is happening throughout the government with probationary employees. We have not been told we will be impacted the same way as the other departments, but we have not been told we won’t either. The lack of a mandated hiring freeze, but DOGE messaging to the contrary, are giving us mixed messages.
- We had 37 names across almost every department, ranging from entry level to division heads. [Command] has agreed to endorse all the people that applied for approval. This doesn’t mean they are approved yet...TBD if the EO’s 1:4 backfill ratio will apply to DoD.

I'm not rooting for DOGE to fail, but who in their right mind thinks this is okay? If you look at the NNSA firings, an org believing it was exempt based on previous messaging in EO's, that was amateur hour. This is insane. FOGOs hearing about something on social media instead of their chain? Inconsistent messaging. Lies.

How can anyone endorse this process?

I’m not sure how I feel about DOGE, but 1 point to Gryffindor…

Having people marked "alive" in the system when they can't be is definitely a problem. But what's not clear to me is if benefits are still going out for these people.

Plot twist: the SS numbers are actually accurate. DOGE just exposed the real conspiracy, which is that Underworld isn't a fictional movie starring one of the hottest women on the planet, it's a documentary. #Lycans

I have mixed emotions. The entire doge effort with a broad sweeping government audit being conducted by an autistic billionaire with questionable authority and ill defined levels of oversight feels a bit like a story line from an Austin Powers sequel...
...but for the love of peace and midnight basketball - are we seriously making social security payments to over 4 million people that would have been 21 years old when the USA got pulled into World War 1 ???

Are we seriously just disinterested that the DOD can't account for countless billions of dollars and hasn't passed an audit since Moses parted the red Sea ???

The postings of shit to X - well - all I can say is fuck social media.
Social media is a pox upon western civilization.
...but at least I hear about shit on social media
...during the Biden administration, that SAME.EXACT.INFORMATION. would have never
...ever
...ever ever ever
...made its way down to my level

If it did, it was immediately either censored or else I was socially and professional ridiculed for believing that something from social media that didn't follow "the narrative" was anything but some radical MAGA conspiracy theory.

I give up.
Government bad
Unabridged life with less government interaction good

The way they are calculating these contract cost savings is hilarious. Most of these “billions” are from BPA’s - meaning there is zero dollars on them.

If you look at the FPDS snip doge.gov has on the “terminated contracts, if there is an “A” in the 9th position of the contract number, that is a BPA. If there is a D, it’s an IDIQ which also has zero dollars on it. Those numbers represent the ceiling price of the agreement or contract.

The amount of time spent providing guidance on the "What Did you Do" email is hardly contributing to government efficiency. I stopped counting at 7 emails and 3 Teams chats.

AI is also getting a lot of BS to sort through, ChatGPT generated statements, copy-paste hackjobs, etc.

Much efficient. Gooder progress.

I was given like three heads-up messages over the weekend telling me to respond to the email I was going to get on Monday. No problem, like I said earlier that’s an easy copy-paste.

Still no email.

Mine just arrived 2 minutes ago.

We received 3 more guidance emails this morning plus 2 PPTs on how to write effective bullet statements. Some of the responses read like a Kamala Harris soundbite.
