I've tried several times over the past year to cross-train from my 21R AFSC into the 13D AFSC.
The attempts never even got off the ground, due to my FAMs at AFPC not giving me a letter of release to include with my package for Phase 1.
Thankfully, this will no longer be an issue, as the good folks on the 13D selection board have changed the Phase 1 requirements to where if your AFSC does not support a cross-train, you can still attend Phase 2 - all you will need is an endorsement letter from your CC!
I hope this info helps others out there like me who have been stiff-armed by our respective career fields!
