National Protest and 'disband the cops' discussion (and now ICE)

Understood. As stated, I plan to read those older discussions before responding in depth on the specifics of the border bill. Maybe my thoughts on it will even change by the time I go through all of that.

There's a lot in those threads. Hours worth of reading if you use the internet to research all the points made.

That is why I’m here (aside from my larger aspirations): To learn and engage in good faith debate about issues that are deeply important to me in this moment, from people who can challenge me and point out potential flaws in my reasoning.

I don't think you have flawed reasoning. I think, and I'm pretty sure I'm right on this one, you are young and prone to chase a lead that doesn't go anywhere because you want to cover all your bases. There is more disinformation and obfuscation than there is good info. You have to learn and re-learn the basics so you don't get sidetracked. No reason to bite the party line paraphrasing here: "Biden did as good on the border as anybody" when you understand the basic premises behind border enforcement and the asylum process. Read about the groups functioning in Mexico and S America who's job it was to explain American laws to migrants so they knew what to say (hide the truth) to get around border safeguards and claim asylum. Some of that was in instagram and X videos, some of the links may no longer work on ShadowSpear but the info is out there deep in the internet.

Quoting your lead, but for everyone's general knowledge: If you look at a URL for the forum and it contains "vb", copy that link, delete the vb and one of the slashes, then go. It should work.
To all… If you encounter something like this, please do a “report post“. I’m slowly behind the scenes working on a project attempting to fix these broken links.

You’re right, I have not consider it from that angle. Thank you for pointing that out. I will dig into that some more.

I mainly wanted to respond to a couple points from @BlackSmokeRisinG’s previous response. My point being that Biden faced challenging circumstances and his actions are often unfairly appraised, imo (I wouldn’t call the picture painted by the CBP data “open borders,” for example).

One thing I can promise you is that I always try to conduct myself in good faith. I value strong evidence and good arguments. I always try to live by the principles of skepticism and want to be challenged in my views. My favorite quote seems like the best way to sum up how I try to engage with my own ideas and beliefs: “If we have the truth, it cannot be harmed by investigation. If we have not truth, it ought to be harmed” (J. Rueben Clark). Was just about to post this. Remember, Antifa has a full Chain of Command and bank accounts. We know who is funding Antifa. And it seems that we know in part that some people in the MN government or at least the Governors former campaign are using their "community organizer" skills and putting them to work through mobilizing what are really attacks (disruptions) on FLEOs.
It is of my opinion that the Left, all of it especially the governmental types, are the root causes of those deaths. Needless? Very. Preventable? Yes, but no leftard will like hearing what the solution is.

Recapturing puts more people at risk and not less. Being a "sanctuary" (Insurrectionist) state or sanctuary city isn't making lives better and it's community safer. It's making lives worse than before.

The efforts that "sanctuary city" policies create are more dangerous for EVERYONE than if they simply did or do the right thing. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the chaos is orchestrated in order to sow dissent and distrust ahead of the midterms... So am I saying or pointing fingers and alluding to to Walz, Frey, and company are EAGER to let a few die for politics?

Because I am. You're damn right I am along with you and many others. They don’t care who pays, even with some lives of their constituents. And we have no one doing the needful and unleashing the entire full might of all of the Justice Department on their butts. These illegals aren't Rosa Parks and the insurrectionists are no Martin Luther King' either.

To be fair, I’ve linked multiple sources for my claims, but you are right. Facepalm moment for sure… back to lurking for a bit.

The issue at hand is we were already in a state of emergency, we did not need more illegals allowed into our country. That bill was trash and supporting it shows someone as being unserious when it comes to border security and immigration reform. Biden let across the border over 10M illegals.

Please understand how Congressional delegations are proposed following a census. It is not based purely on the number of citizens residing in a state but all persons residing in a state. Many of these illegals and mass asylees were sent to Blue states to buttress redistribution of Congressional delegations as well as just being a limp government that was incapable of doing anything. Sure, we can say Congress is partially to blame...but the POTUS has to enforce the law, he willfully chose against doing so because of feelings? Enforce the laws of the land and stop importing more dreamers. The whole point of DACA was it was a one time thing...but it really wasn't because Reagan also did an amnesty.

This level headed take full of facts will go nowhere.

Pretti wasn’t carrying legally. His 1st, 2nd, and 4th amendment rights weren’t violated, because the millisecond he went hands on with LE to ‘physically impede, obstruct, or intimidate’ a lawful operation, he was an armed man committing multiple felonies.

Won’t matter.

So, while I agree with the general premise of the statements in the video, it's not really accurate to say Pretti wasn't carrying legally and would've lost his permit.

Not having your permit on you while carrying in Minnesota is a petty misdemeanor and carries a max. $25 fine. The reality is, unless you're being a complete jackass, if an officer checks and confirms a valid permit, you'd simply be let off with a warning. The $25 fine isn't worth the paperwork.

I agree with the rest of the comments, which are much more valid.
