It appears, at least as far as spending vs income is concerned, that a policies are not working to reduce the deficit. Instead, that spending is taking us to record highs.
Need to cut “entitlements” or maybe cut waste.

I may be wrong. But I'm not sure he'd be reelected if he cut entitlements. FTR, they are actually entitlements because you have paid for the product. One of the reasons I support Trump is because he is a rare republican who vowed not to touch these programs. My .02. Probably better discussion for the trump presidency thread, though.Need to cut “entitlements” or maybe cut waste.
The irony is so god damn thick. Aren't the DOJ and FBI corrupt?! Isn't that what he said for years? FFS man. This of course preceeded a good ole "tweetstorm". Let's see- pretty classic fare here. The leader of the free world wants to talk about... TV ratings for shows he doesn't like, people that are mean to him, the aforementioned tweet, closing the border (if he had focused on the national emergency he declared as opposed to the "witch hunt" that's taken up 80% of his given attention I would wager this wouldn't be an issue), and "fake news" again. My favorite part, is the fact that he just does not care about the ammo he is giving his opposition when he accuse someone else of “embarrassing the country” LOL
I think he's roasting/calling out the people who tried to play kingmaker. The irony is so god damn thick. Aren't the DOJ and FBI corrupt?! Isn't that what he said for years? FFS man. And, as we all know, he doesn't mean "fake news". He means "stories that don't flatter him." Someday I will tell you the secret.

"Someday, I will tell you the secret"
Dont any of you understand? You dont "get it" because its a secret.
Its a secret.
Maybe - just maybe, someday, you will know the secret
I think you’re reading way too far in to a 75 year old billionaire manchild’s Twitter secret meanings.I think he's roasting/calling out the people who tried to play kingmaker.
I don't think I am and I'm not the only one. To quote Shakespeare, "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark".I think you’re reading way too far in to a 75 year old billionaire manchild’s Twitter secret meanings.
What’s the quote, @Box ? ‘When someone tells you who they are, believe them?’ I’m paraphrasing.
The president isn’t playing 4d chess. There’s no Q. No deeper conspiracy at work. He’s a sensitive senior citizen with a Twitter account and too much (executive) time on his hands.
You don’t think you’re the only one looking for things that aren’t there and getting confirmation biased (it’s a hell of a drug) because you want your side to be ‘right’ a lot?I don't think I am and I'm not the only one. To quote Shakespeare, "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark".
I think the American public is tired of being screwed over by the DC swamp, foreign powers like China & Mexico, and an education system inundated by Marxists. Frankly, I'm glad that POTUS is calling those scumsuckers out.
It's not about about being right or confirmation bias. It's about not wanting to live under the boot of a bunch of Ivy League educated schmucks, who seem to think that they're the new aristocracy. It's not like this is a new thing, we all remember the IRS targeting conservatives and it being discounted as conspiracy. You don’t think you’re the only one looking for things that aren’t there and getting confirmation biased (it’s a hell of a drug) because you want your side to be ‘right’ a lot?
I agree.
Can you do me a favor? Can you explain how the bolded applies to the president's tweet containing some secret code that isn't available to us? I feel like we were having one conversation and then you threw in something completely and totally unrelated, so I must be missing something. It's not about about being right or confirmation bias. I'm talking about how we have runaway/corrupt sections of govt that seem act like they're outside the law. Higher ups at the IRS targeted conservative groups to steal elections and now we had higher ups at the FBI, DOJ, and Intel communities who tried and failed at playing kingmaker. Can you do me a favor? Are you implying that the president is in fact part of a larger conspiracy to take down these "Ivy league educated schmucks" as part of the "new aristocracy"?

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying.I'm talking about how we have runaway/corrupt sections of govt that seem act like they're outside the law. Boiled down, I'm talking about Trump pointing fingers and laughing at the Deep State.
Due to it's actions the IRS effectively killed the Tea Party movement; that I know. As for the evidence behind their motivations, they basically lumped conservative groups in with the potheads, truthers, socialists, zionists, etc. It's not like we don't know the consequences of the IRS's actions.Gotcha, thanks for clarifying.
I did a google search; I definitely get the "IRS was targeting conservative groups, was investigated by the DOJ, was found to be in the wrong, and had to settle". The IRS was 100% in the wrong and was blatantly targeting groups with certain terminology in their names; in September 2017, the Treasury Department IG concluded that the IRS used "both liberal and conservative keywords to choose targets for scrutiny." Those words included "medical marijuana", "patriots", "9/12", "progressive", "occupy", "Israel", "open source software". In the 2017 finding, during the current administration, the inspector general was quoted as saying "The 115 page report confirmed the findings of the prior 2013 report that some conservative organizations had been unfairly targeted, but also found that the pattern of misconduct had been ongoing since 2004 and was non-partisan in nature." This all happened under Obama; if your contention was, "Obama did bad things", I'd agree with you.
Question 1- Please read your bolded above. The IRS most certainly did target conservative (and liberal) groups. What evidence can you present to show their motivation was to steal elections? Did you mean tax elections, or political elections?
I am going to go out on a limb here- there isn't a deep state. Further more, if there was, a political ingénue with less than 3 years experience is probably not waging war against that non-entity and sending out coded messages that only his followers can understand and interpret via twitter. That's just absurd.
"Then it comes to a place called Michigan. Have you ever heard of Michigan?"
"China and by the way we are building that wall as you -- we are building that wall. Build it."
"I support the Great Lakes, always have. They're beautiful. They're big, very deep, record deepness."
