Presidential Tweet Thread

Move him, don’t move him, whatever.

But dammit, the president of United States of America should not be in any way editorializing about a member of the military who is up for trial.

It is no different than the Bowe Bergdahl stuff, it is impossible for his comments not to influence the thinking of others, especially other military members who may serve on a court-martial.

I love that our president has respect and awe for the military, but we don’t need him as a fan boy.

Pre-trial confinement isn't some crazy new thing. Manning was confined 800+ some days before that trial.
The President getting involved in this runs the risk of poisoning this whole thing, kinda like the Bergdahl case.
The ACLU and Kavanaugh comments really have nothing to do with this.

Point being that the defense has yet to present its case and the Chief is being tried in the court of public opinion. He’s not guilty until a judge so orders and the appellate process would then most likely begin.

I doubt We the Peons have the actual facts of the case.

Edit: it appears that POTUS was responding to efforts by Congressmen.

Reminds me of a thread on Puerto Rico and it's corrupt govt. Oh no's! Is the Democratic party trying to get payback for the presidential elections?

91 Billion dollars is alot for PR's govt to blow on hookers and blow. Figured you'd get a discount being so close to the source. Wonder how many F-35's, border walls, and Infantry modernization programs that could buy?

Me'thinks the President know what's he talking about.

PR has only "gotten" $11 billion so far, with $41 billion allocated. That's considerably less than $91 billion. I mean, it's not the first time that the president facts and figures wrong in a tweet. It kinda seems to be his M.O.
But you'd think that with direct access to the most current and up-to-date information, he'd be able to get it right more often? Or maybe he's just lying to us? I dunno. Either is equally plausible.

He was allegedly denied family visits, okay sure.
It’s also alleged that he’s been denied to meet with his legal counsel on multiple occasions. That’s a big big no no.
He’s also in convicted population, also a big no no. Sounds like Miramar is running a shit show honestly, though I’ve never dealt with those guys.
I don’t have the facts just what I’ve read in the letter by Rep Crenshaw.
I will say from experience most people who work the brig have a huge “I hate my job, I’m going to be an asshole” vibe to them except for a whole two MA’s. Maybe they were just upset they had to bring their prisoner to medical or all of them were having a bad day every time they came but that’s just what I’ve seen. I suppose that’s all subjective though.

Back on topic.

I trust POTUS's figure over the MSM, shoot I remember PR asking for 15 Billion just to rebuild the power grid. Lemme do some legwork, but I'm guessing there is some data missing.

Right now I'm looking at the grant money Puerto Rico has received from 2017 to today and holey crap, PR is getting a nice chunk of change outta of the country.

We should also take this time to remember that Puerto Rico is part of the United States, and Puerto Ricans and U.S. citizens.

This is all just waaaaay too serious. I'm ready for some name calling Tweets that make fun of democrats.
Statistics are bullshit - I want to see the POTUS launching personal attacks at those villainous leftist democrats.

Then I think we should declare war on two countries because of what the hurricane did to the Rich Port.

They’re at least as important as some of those Mexican countries.
The way I see it, the people of Puerto Rico are the ragamuffin kids of a corrupt local govt that likes to party it up, drown herself in debt, and mouth off, while her kids are given scraps. So do you just keep giving cash, in the hope that she'll wise up and take care of her kids or start to hold her accountable for her actions?

What about the family down the road whose farm just flooded? When they need help do you tell them, "Sorry, before I help you I need to burn more money with that hoe over there. I'm hoping that she finally takes care of her kids..." ?

Add on: feel free to change the gender of PR's govt, it's not binary thing anyway.

I'm sorry you had to hear it this way.

They're US nationals and not citizens IIRC and it's it's a dependency rather than part of the US per sey (might be wrong there). Much like the Cook Islands to us.

Donald Trump talks utter bollocks on a regular basis.

In other news, water is wet.

If Trump loses in 20 I’m gonna be sad asf. He’s made politics fun his tweets are pure gold
