He was saying what he was doing was McCarthyism...
Only explanation that makes sense, really. Maybe we missed the whole thing... he was giving us an example of McCarthyism, not actually accusing Pres Obama of wiretapping him. MAYBE HE'S BEEN DOING IT ALL THE TIME!!!!

"There were three million illegal voters. This is hyperbole!"

Oh hey, remember when the president promised to investigate the millions of illegal votes in the 2016 election?

A few days ago, congress quietly muttered "...yeah we're not gonna do that ktnhxbye."

Chaffetz: House Oversight Committee won't look into voter fraud claims

What do you do when you've only been in office for a month and haven't passed any legislation or a budget, but the economy is doing really well under the last guy?

Take credit for it, of course.

ETA: Pretend that I included his tweet about reducing the deficit in there as well. If you have even a cursory understanding of macroeconomics you'll realize that these are absurd statements.

Do you take credit for something good that happened while you were in command for your FitRep?

What I like to do is harp as frequently as I can about how everything is terrible, and all good news numbers are total bullshit for my predecessor. Then, after I take over I say how those numbers at totally legit - and it's because I'm doing such a fantastic job. It really cracks people up.

You guys are acting like this isn't situation normal. Which is hilarious.

Please take those names in vain one someone else's screen.

Or you can go to another site. You just complained about, and reported, a post with language that is used about eleventy times a day here in General Discussion alone. Not once have you complained, but now it matters?

You're trolling is old, tired, and pretty lame.

This isn't up for debate or a rebuttal, no reply is necessary. Back to the thread.

Which, is again, the new normal thanks to him. Rather than saying, the economy needs to be worked on, we say thanks Bush, thanks Obama. So all of the bad things that happen, he's of course going to blame Obama. All of the good things that happen, he's going to say it was all him.

And I really don't care if he does, probably because we got used to it.

It doesn't matter who or what, if you inherit something then it is still your predecessor's for some period of time. Good or bad, your predecessor deserves the blame or credit, because it is still his. There comes a time however, when it is now your problem, your solution, and your pass/fail. At some point you have to be a man and own the issue. It is still Obama's economy, but a year from now...not so much and that goes for just about every program/ policy.

I would expect any political leader to highlight the good of their administration - and the bad of another. I'd expect that of economic factors especially - which often result tangentially from executive policy if at all.

What I was highlighting - and I don't believe has any precedent - is the claim the mechanisms used to measure progress (jobs reports in this case) are fabricated/lies/meaningless for over a year - then turn around the first month and say the exact same measures are 100% legitimate when it's your watch, when nothing has changed in how the data is compiled. It's transparently dishonest and self-serving in a way I would think even supporters might find concerning - because it means there's no real way to hold the administration accountable for anything, even the policies you want them to execute.
