I don't know a thing about Dune

Fix yourself.

Seriously, it's one of the best sci-fi books out there (on my list, it holds the #1 slot right ahead of Starship Troopers). I'd be REALLY surprised if you read it and came away saying "well, that sucked..."

I'm with @Kraut783. I don't want to see a fucked up version, but if they do this right... holy crap.

Seconded. Do push-ups then buy Dune.
The whole six books series is incredible. Dune should be required reading for every SOF soldier. Talk about going into a hostile G-bass and winning over a foreign partner to overthrow an illegitimate government...

Okay I'm hyped. This looks really good so far.

If it were out now this would probably be the click to take me off of movie theater quarantine.

Hans Zimmer, who is a huge Dune fan, actually turned down a Chris Nolan scoring (Tenet) to focus all his efforts on this movie's OST. That alone will have me in the seats.

The casting looks great for an ensemble. Young Paul's casting was spot-on, and Zendaya hits the Fremen look to a tee. I would have recast Momoa as Stilgar and Oscar Isaacs (before he got Leto, which is also great) or Pedro Pascale as Duncan Idaho. Stellan Skarsgard was an unexpectedly great choice that I can't at all be disappointed for getting the role instead of say Kingpin-style Vince D'onofrio or Cloverfield-esque John Goodman.

Also (unrelated to Dune) to @Cookie_, @DasBoot, and @SaintKP: While I didn't particularly enjoy the Lighthouse as much as I wanted to, all that brine and bilge water did good work in washing away the sparkly-teen-vampire stench off of Pattinson's acting pedigree.

Consider me changed from flat-out offended to cynically curious to see how this pans out.

I normally just wait for the movie..that's why I have a 3rd grade education. I have no issues with this.

Dune trailer looks really good!!!

 8-) :ROFLMAO:

You sell yourself short. It is at least 6th grade in Alabama. Maybe 7th. The US educational system is shit so we may never know. Just...stolen valor that education. A victimless crime.
