Margo Robbie...Aussie...yay!

Just viewed War Machine on Netflix. Ben Kingsley as Hamid Karzai is one of the best comic deals around. BTW Hey Russel Crowe lose some fucking weight mate! I know you live next to Harrys' Cafe de Wheels but seriously mate, do some situps.... fat cunt...

For the uninitiated

I'm sorry but Margot Robbie has "fallen out of favor" with you?! You disappoint me.
Well it seems he's now a homosexual sooooo...
"Now"? You're behind the times...
God DAMN, ya bunch of savages. I rearrange a fake list of celebrity bangs around and I get 4 rapid fire gay jokes?

Funny side note- we saw the trailer for Atomic Blonde and I mentioned the list thing to my wife and she replied, "Charlize Theron is on MY list."

Not 2017, but I just saw Hidden Figures. It is a great movie. My wife is a female engineer, and while not black, watching it with her and knowning the obstacles she had to overcome, often was very powerful. That these women could be so powerful, in a time when the world was stacked against them is an amazing thing. Everyone should watch this, or should be watched in school along with Remember the Titans IMO.

Hidden Figures was on our short list. Will watch it tonight.

Also not 2017 but we saw Manchester by the Sea yesterday. A great study on grief and carrying permanent wounds, but still somehow very watchable and great all the way around.

Yesterday I saw It Comes at Night and while I'm not a fan of the apocalypse horror genre, I liked the movie. You could see the end coming from a mile away, but they movie kept up enough suspense the obvious was always in doubt. No "twists", no major mind-game dream sequences, just a straight-forward story. If you're looking for happy moments, this isn't your film.

So I definitely have had to mull this movie over and despite my initial dislike after seeing it, I have to say it has grown on me. Much the same way "The Witch" did last summer. It goes beyond traditional physical horror and goes for a more subtle, slow burning eeriness and dread. A24 has been putting out some great films and is probably the finest studio to emerge the last few years.

I don't have much interest in the apocalyptic stuff either but was looking for something to go see. I read the reviews, which are generally very good, so I took a shot. I thought the acting was very good, but just didn't care for the long and drawn out conclusion of which I had mostly already concluded:zzz: I give it 3/5.

I got "War on Everyone" from Refboc the other day, might just be the worst movie I've ever seen. Terrible story, acting, the gambit of awful.

Churchill was ok. Brian Cox as Churchill chewed the scenery a bit, but it was a portrayal of a man who once had it, but was slowly fading away.
(If anyone saw The Queen on Netflix, John Lithgow as Churchill was pretty good).

OK, I don't know if this was just some inside joke that I didn't get or what but, against my better judgement, we watched "Get Out" last night. We did so in large part due to some of the positive feedback here. HOLY HELL...that was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. LOL.

We also watched "Hell or High Water". It was a little slow at times but overall a pretty good movie. Definitely worth a watch if you haven't already seen it.
