It was really good. I don't normally like super hero movies but it was good.

Saw Baby Driver last night- really good movie. Stylized, full of action, great cast, all around a great summer movie. The soundtrack is also ridiculously good.

Watched Lego Batman with the kids last night. It is REALLY funny, and pokes fun at how seriously the recent Batman movies have taken themselves. Even without kids, it's a solid stand alone movie...especially if you are at all familiar with Batman and his history.

ETA - I'd love to know what Apple paid for iPhone product placement and getting Siri in there. (she is the voice of his computer)
ETA 2 - Iron Man is from Marvel Comics and Batman is DC. It will make sense later.
ETA 3 - Love that they had the guts to give Robin a sparkling cape!

Robin does have a reggae color scheme. I'd never noticed before.

It's one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. The references were on point.

It's not from this year but I really enjoyed watching "Jim: The James Foley Story". Definitely a different perspective on war correspondents. He was truly a real journalist among a world of "entertainers".

Best guess...based only on what you see in the video, how long would these girls last at 47 meters? And even on the way up, wouldn't they need at least a couple of decompression stops along the way?

I like a good suspenseful movie, but give me at least a little realism that makes me believe you made a half-ass-effort to research the basics and make a better movie.

Watched 47 Meters Down last night because I dig SCUBA and sharks. The best part was the preview for American Assassin, which looks to be a good movie. 47 Meters Down was just ok. Not realistic. One diver was doing her first dive,without training, but was able to do divemaster level tasks while on the verge of panic.

I hope Corporal Leavey got 'paid' because it seems like everyone she knew in the Corps is channeling their inner Blue Falcon.

- This would have never really happened
- And of course..."STOLEN VALOR!"
- Etc...etc...etc...

Or maybe Corporal Leavey is channeling her inner Robert O'Neill and riding this pony for every bit of pub she can get?

Either way, the folks interviewed in the T&P come across as bitter and nit-picky for just a Hollywood movie. The comments are worth reading, just for the fact that so many people claim they knew her, supervised her, etc.

There have been so many bullshit anti-military films produced over the past 40 years, I'm happy when one comes out that treats military people with a little respect...and I'm even willing to forgive some Hollywood contrivances of the original story. It's probably harder for those that served with the principle to accept dramatizations and compilations of actual events. I know it's hard for @racing_kitty and others to accept the bullshit scenes in Hurt Locker...but goddam, when I think of fucking Sean Penn and Michael J. Fucking Fox in Casualties of War ...Just be glad they're not showing GWOT vets as drug-addled rapists and baby-killers.
