Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

Dunkirk. Holy shit. Very different stylistically; it wasn't very long and had very little dialogue - we don't even know the names of most of the characters. However, this was absolutely stunning visually with an amazing score; the best I've seen in a long time. The aerial scenes are simply fantastic. Go see this film in the theater. I saw the "standard" version but this is one film that's probably worth the IMAX upsell.

Gather round for the bukkake of hate. Some one decided it might be a good idea to make a film about some have-beens in a elevator, set during the 9/11 attacks on the WTC and release it three days before the anniversary, on September 8.

My, my, my...

Whoopi must have lost her mind...

We both know that movie had to happen. It's been in the mail for quite some time.

Pleased to see that the trailer itself is getting absolutely slaughtered online. I hate seeing the images of those jets hitting the Towers used for commercial purposes.

20 years ago that would have been straight to VHS and get lost on Blockbuster shelves.

So I saw Sleepless (pretty bad) and Fist Fight (pretty funny) on a plane back and forth to Florida.

Fist Fight was really, really funny if you find Charley Day (Charlie Kelly from IASIP), pretty entertaining. I found almost nothing redeeming about Sleepless.

You...often think about fucking Sean Penn? :p

Quick change of subject:

Dunkirk. Don't look for a lot of dialogue, character development, sub-plots, romance or names. Who needs that shit anyway when you've got all the other stuff this movie has. Maybe your GF or your wife (or both 8-):D) will complain about the missing elements...but if you call yourself a man, enjoy the movie.

Great soundtrack, fair amount of tits and ass, and overall a decent movie. I would say that parts of it were a bit too predictable for my taste. In my opinion, I'd catch if you have seen Dunkirk, otherwise prioritize that over this.

"The hero" with Sam Elliot aka CSM Plumley was very good. It's "The Wrestler" with a western actor instead of a wrestler. Solid film with one great, timeless scene.

Realized I posted this in a different thread than intended. My above review is for Atomic Blonde.
