Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

New Superman doesn't look all that bad. I think I am pretty over most shit coming from Marvel these days. I can only be disappointed so much. I don't like myself after hate watching all these garbage movies.

I will say that Disney didn't somehow fuck up Skeleton Crew.

So, that's only on the revenue side. A bunch of Chinese companies own studios or are direct funders of films. SO is are the ME countries as well...
 
Alto Knights streaming on Prime, others.

Story about the 1950s mob "war" between Vito Genovese and Frank Costello. I like it for old timey NYC language and setting, but that was about it.... Moves along a little slow, and not a ton of action.

Kind of a movie to fit Robert Dinero's age rather than a good take on the whole story. Probably the last true mafia movie to come out on the big screen. It's a dying genre with all the big actors and directors reaching their 80s.

Good if you want to bore yourself for 2 hours listening to old Italians talk gangster.

Just saw Warfare. It was good. Not very long; runtime is ~90 min. See it in a theater for the "sound".

If definitely still has an A24 feel to it (I can't describe what that is exactly - maybe indie film-ish?), but this was the best A24 film I've seen.

My showing was 20% capacity...and that might be generous. So, if you're interested in checking it out, probably do so soon because it may not be in theaters very long.

Aside: The overall theater was packed with people going to see Minecraft. I have no interest in it because I'm not 12 nor do I live in my parents basement, but word is it's a "fun" movie and the people going to see it appeared to be having a good time, dressing up, bringing props, etc. Not my thing at all but glad there's something out there people find entertaining.

Co-Worker's took her son yesterday and had a blast at Minecraft. Also has a bunch of actors in it that would draw our demographic.

Just my $.02, but the way it's filmed and with it's intent, Warfare is worth seeing in the theater. Not sure the experience/effect will be the same streaming, unless you have some killer home theater set up.
