The Army is putting off some involuntary discharges to help build the NCO corps

Fucking Army and short sightedness, just a few years ago, they were booting anybody and everybody. Tattoo's, Article 15's, TIS/TIG. Now they stand up this Special Forces "light" brigade (that's a joke guys, I know it ain't SF) and holy shit, they need seasoned nco's to fill the ranks... Call me stupid, but this seems a bit fucking dumb, poorly planned and ignorant to the end result.

Why would you boot guys who were heavily experienced over silly shit, but then turn around a few years later and attempt to retain guys who are not promoting, well simply put, because they are lacking somewhere.

All to staff a FID brigade that needs to be staffed by the cream of the crop to be anywhere remotely successful in its purpose.

No dog in this fight anymore, but this just seems really stupid to me...

This happens in the Navy every few years, and it's a big-ass accordion effect. It's the military way: everyone is a nail, so all personnel issues require the hammer....

From the time I commissioned, to the time I got caught up in a draw down...we had three force reductions in five years during the Obama administration. THREE...important to not that these RCP adjustments are only in effect for the next 11 months.
