The Racing Thread

Lewis to Ferrari, new regs in 2026, a new team (Cadillac) in 2026, Red Bull isn't the dominate force, Maclaren on the rise, Mercedes doing weird shit, Williams in a rebuild, Haas acting like a professional organization...2025-2026 are looking like some bangers.
F1 is quite interesting. I went to the F1 Grand Prix in Amsterdam last year—fun times, more than I expected.

The races can be a little boring, but part of the suspense is the strategy. Some tracks are garbage for a variety of reasons (like you, Monaco) and others are really good. Teams are constantly making changes to their cars, so dogwater in March can be amazing later. Even a boring race has some merit because of the driver's and constructor's points. If nothing else, the first lap or two of each race can be sporty; the first turn can decide championships.

I'm going to start watching IndyCar this season if for no other reason than the commentary team. They (Buxton and Hinch) just left F1 for big money and to be closer to home. I'd eat a soggy turd before I watched Danica Patrick comment on anything.

Can probably make a bunch of money by betting on Stroll coming in at the back of the pack. I subscribe to F1TV and it's absolutely worth the money. I don't have ESPN so I don't have to listen to the Sky Sports broadcast.

@AWP I'm excited for the rookies coming in this year. Testing is right around the corner!

For Formula 1?

I don't bet, but this site has been kind of solid.

Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes are your biggies right now. Haas is a sleeper. Alpine and Sauber/ Audi are hot garbage. Williams is a wild card (mostly a tractor, but rebuilding and with at least one good driver), and Aston Martin won't be a factor until Lance Stroll is fired into the sun at which point his dad will sell the team. 2026 could be a good year for them though.

Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari, McLaren, and Red Bull will be your dominate stories this year. Long odds, big payoffs will be Carlos Sainz in a Williams. Oscar Piastri hitting his stride is a dark horse.

The rookies...what a horrible sport to be a rookie. So much money at stake, so little seats, so much talent waiting in the wings, being an F1 rookie has to be one of the most stressful jobs on the planet. I'm serious when I say that.

Poor Doohan has to win races, so he's fired by the summer because career criminal Briatore's decided Colapinto is the future. Kimi Antonelli can fuck off to the sun, I'm tired of hearing about how he bandaged Jesus' hands or whatever. I hate him because of the coverage alone. Bearman is a sleeper. The ugly dude and Yuki will combine for -723 points after the swearing fines are realized. Liam Lawson isn't as good as he thinks he is and Bortoleto drives for Sauber.

So...Bearman.

Any F1 fans or potential fans: the F1TV subscription is worth the money, especially with archival footage going back years, including whole races. Jolyon Plamer's post-race analysis is fantastic. @TLDR20 it might be worth taking a look at in your case. Even the official YouTube channel is good. Other good YT channels include Driver61 and FP1Will for his comedy reviews.

1: These KC fans never stood a chance if they attempted to defend themselves

2: The excited Philly douche bags… You didn’t accomplish anything, the professional football team in your state where you happen to live did something.

3: the Cunt who stole that dude‘s hat, that’s fucking theft. It makes me so angry, fucking scumbag bullies who pray on weak people.

Philly is a trash city and you can't have a trash city without trash people.

Why are you posting F1 shit in the NFL thread?
You are confusing the old people.
;)

My dad was an Official for Indy Racing from the time before I was born until the mid 90s. Al Unser (and Jr), Rick Mears, Mario Andretti, and quite a few other pretty famous IRL and NASCAR drivers have both been to some of my birthday parties. But, I swear the Indy 500 ruined my parents marriage and led of them fucking other people.

TLDR: My parents are serial cheaters thanks to racing and as a result I have serious trust issues.

To give everyone an idea...and why passing at Monaco is a problem and makes the race so boring.
