The Racing Thread

Qualifying at Interlagos is starting to look like I-4 during rush hour. Crashed cars pushed off to the side like bodies in Fallujah.

And Max starting P17 is mental.

I just finished Q1. I think I stopped breathing with Lando sitting in p15. Gonna head to the grocery store and then finish it out.

Sorry if I spoiled it. :(

Still a great session. The race is going to be nuts.
You're good. I knew what I was signing up for. 😉

I have 6:30 left in Q3 and I just opened up IG to see some other spoilers. I pray for the people that have money on this race. Lol

NASCAR diversity hire, nothing more. She did win one Indy series race though, IIRC.

She's horrible. She's a marketing gimmick. Good on her (I guess) for milking her "Desert 7" looks and poor (at best) racing history.

You look at drivers like James Hinchcliffe or Jolyon Palmer. The former (like Danica) has zero F1 starts. The latter (unlike Danica) has 30-something F1 starts. They smoke her, they blow her away in knowledge and presentation, and by most metrics they weren't very successful drivers.

She got by on a modicum of talent, but isn't Shrek, and can maybe appeal to...people too shallow to watch Drive to Survive? She's a marketing ploy. She shouldn't be allowed to comment on a regional soapbox derby tournament.

On a certain level I'm happy with the results. GR is still a douche, but cares about the drivers and has talent. LH...not a fan, but he still has talent and I look forward to his time with Ferrari. Sainz got shit on this year, so I like to see him succeed. Max, a 4 time world champion, in a row no less, is impressive.

As a McLaren fan, are they going to bottle the WCC like Norris bottles the first turn?

Also, Boyz 2 Men can fuck off with that national anthem.

GM is expected to get the green light on it's F1 team, Cadillac F1, this weekend. They'll join in 2026 with Ferrari engines but expect their own engine in 2028.

It's always been a bit weird to me that manufacturer sponsored teams may have engines built by another manufacturer.

Engineering and manufacturing in most racing series now is cookie- cutter to keep the competition tight. In NASCAR, even the drivers are all the same. It's boring.
