The Trump Presidency 2.0

This happened back in 2016 and led to Hillary laundering money through the DNC and Tulsi (in part) resigning as co-chair or whatever with the DNC.

Then you have Harris and her 1+ billion, so there’s some skim going on. A lot of skim IMO. They are eating their young and then pleading poverty, like killing your parents and asking the judge for leniency because you’re an orphan.

For a dude people are breathlessly telling me "just can't wait to get into a new war", every single thing this admin is doing is 180 out from that.

How many times do we have to do this? Trump operates from a hyperbolic, maximalist position ("It's too late to negotiate! I told you to surrender fully!"), then gives the out ("But if Iran wants to come to the White House, I mean, it might be too late but I will talk"), and backs it up with consequences ("Attack plans have been approved, but I alone hold the go/no go, and I will wait until 1 second before it's absolutely needed before I give the go ahead.")

When CNN is talking about Trump's commitment to a diplomatic resolve (while still actually posturing forces to further his "peace through strength" doctrine), you know something ain't adding up.

Something that's a real issue for Trump- he ran on no new wars, and I voted for that. If the admin doesn't stick to the below lists- they're cooked, as the kids would say. He's gonna lose the plurality of power he's built with these other issues- and that's me included.

1- Mass deportations.
2- Secure the border
3- Fix legal immigration
4- Economy
5- Arrests and prosecutions (accountability) for the deep state folks that have harmed America.

FBI is alleging that China interfered with the 2020 elections. The J6 committee. AIPAC influence. Domestic terror organizations funded by taxpayers and operating with impunity. These issues matter to the rank and file Trump voter, and unless they focus- the mid terms are not going to be pretty.

People aren't going to switch parties, the republicans are gonna throw their hands up and just not turn out, and that turn out is what won him the election. Things in America are bad enough now- he has to capitalize by focusing on what got him the election.

So you want to know what I didn't vote for? The sale of public lands.

Oh man, I got out of the Army a little too soon. :(

“Back in 1914, we showed Mexico who’s boss. In 1992, we did it again in LA. Now, in 2025, we’re bringing it full circle,” Trump declared during a press event at Camp Pendleton, flanked by Marines and National Guard troops. “This medal celebrates our troops who bravely defended federal buildings from skateboard-wielding anarchists and abuela chancla-tossers.”

I think the thing about Trump and his way of speaking is that he's just crazy enough to do it. We (including global nations) wouldn't pay him any mind if he was just hyperbolic in his speech; its the fact that every so often he actually follows through. The unpredictability give a strength to him doing things like negotiations.

I will say regarding Iran specifically, Trump has less antagonists (both politically and philosophically) this administration. If he wants to attack, he doesn't have anyone who will challenge him. Realistically, he may have more hawks giving him advice now that he did 16-20.

Madman protocol a la Nixon. I think to your bolded- this is what I have been harping on.

To your bolded...Everyone that knows "how terrible Trump is" has to reconcile the fact that he can, he will, he's being advised to- and he isn't. It's been a super fun conversation for me to have lately.

He wants war? He's owned by Israel? He's terrible at negotiation? Ok- well why is he acting so consistently in this regard counter to those talking points, then?

Ok- well why is he acting so consistently in this regard counter to those talking points, then?

A very good point. I think he's much more conscious of what decisions are going to be seen as "his alone" and which ones he can say "Secretary xyz did that".

First term he was more willing to listen to his staff and follow their guidance; this term he's setting his position and making them work around it.

Oddly enough - the first time around when Trump supposedly listened more to his staff; people like Mattis, Kelly, et all either deliberately or unintentionally "fucked" him. They all knew that regardless of what advice they gave him - HE AND HE ALONE - would own the results.
Then when things didn't turn out the way they wanted and they didn't reap praise that they thought they were due - they all ran off to write books and gave interviews about how much it sucked working for him.
Either way people in his cabinet were constantly undermining his efforts - and to what end?
Orangemanbad.
Fuck those disingenuous "Militician" pricks -

Now, he is more "more cautious" because he remembers how hard people in his last administration fucked him - let him OWN bad decisions - and then ran off to write books and give interviews. So now, when he declares his position and presses everyone to work around his agenda - he sucks because he wont "listen" to his advisors - with the result being more of the same.
Orangemanbad.
"Meet the new boss" and all that jazz

Maybe Trump is a genius and has been playing 11 dimensional chess all along.
Maybe not.
Maybe he is just a snake oil salesman that is in way over his head and we are just now able to see it.
Maybe not.
Maybe I would be a better President.
Maybe?
Maybe Kamala or Joe or Hillary or aLg0Re or Herman Munster would all have had a better way out of this shit show.
Maybe we are all just a bunch of armchair quarterbacks that just like jumping on the current-thing bandwagon; who knows?
I don't.
...but I'm running as an Independent in 2028 on a "I'm not Donald Trump and I'm not Joe Biden either" platform and I want to earn your vote America !!!

Box in 2028 mother fuckers !!!

I called this one about a month ago after KJP’s defection. The new Dem playbook everyone! We’re about to see some Inception level storytelling.
Yep. And now people are trying to act like they didn't know.

I dunno.. I feel like all my liberal friends were suggesting that he was on something daily. Saying that this doesn't prove he wasn't on it back in November seems like a goal post being moved.
Yeah man it just is what it is. This could have been exactly what they’re claiming and have this exact test 6 months later. Two things true at once.
