You're the one that brought up your daughter to qualify yourself as left leaning. Let's say I'm woefully ignorant of statistics. Which statistics are we talking about here?
I understand both of these points. It's true that gay rights is a left leaning view. Social conservativism has really always been about not being open to change. I myself do not like a lot of the direction our country is going. I am a conservative, but do not GAF who you sleep with. That ship has sailed, regardless of party.
I disagree. Current support from Republicans on same sex marriage is at about 40% in 2025 and steadily declining. Dems at over 80%. You could argue that same sex marriage isn't the full issue, but imo, you can't really say you believe in gay rights, but it's not okay to marry. The idea that gay rights is inherently left-leaning hasn’t held true for over two decades.
Assuming you're still trolling, but I'll entertain this one last time for some reason.
LGBT voters who are Democrat vs Republican. One group is larger than the other.
What a weird conversation we are having- do per capita next to compare the groups on a metric that’s level.Ok, tracking. This is your reason for leaning left. Because one side is bigger than the other
This was beautiful. +5Per capita, male partner abuse turned lesbians, use more purple hair dye than naturally selected lesbians. But both are solid at "acting".
Well, I enjoy facts over feelings. But all you have to do is turn on the TV to see who owns the cause. What a weird conversation we are having- do per capita next to compare the groups on a metric that’s level.
Per capita, LGBTQ individuals identify as democrats and vote as such… that’s pretty solid.
I’ll be as gracious as possible on this one- the vocal minority drowns out the silent majority on those TV channels (all of them regardless of political bent). #AstroTurfingWell, I enjoy facts over feelings. But all you have to do is turn on the TV to see who owns the cause.
This is gonna bite the conservatives badly in the future
ANOTHA ONE. The SC woke up and chose violence today and I’m here for it.
I assume that will be when the democrats stop making 80/20 issues the bulk of their legal challenges and find a principled challenge that isn't based on "Orange Man Bad". Read- not any time soon. Not suprised, but a bit broader of a decision than I'd expected. I wonder how long it'll be until we see follow-on cases for less divisive topics than queer stuff.
Meh, sounds like a future problem that you can't possibly support or forecast; I'll take the win in the here and now. No more activist judges acting outside of their authority at scale, the agenda moves on at pace. This is gonna bite the conservatives badly in the future

ACB apparently burned Justice Ketanji Jackson to the ground... seems like maybe Justice Jackson isn't the most popular with her colleagues.
SCOTUS conservatives issue scathing rebuke of Justice Jackson in injunctions ruling
