The Trump Presidency 2.0

A lot of people don't want to say it, but Trump is doing what we all know needs to be done.

Why do we have DEI if we have... EO? EEO? IG? Commanders? UCMJ? Army Values? Get all of the politics and racism out of the way and let Soldiers be Soldiers.

Blows my mind that half of congress voted against Hegseth. They voted every other asshole in with record numbers, but not Hegseth.

He was the one that it was OK to really hate. Kind of like Trump was in his first and second elections. If you want to grandstand and pretend things like character and personality matter, this was the guy to do it against.

Preface this by saying I voted for Trump…not because I believe that he’s the answer, but because I felt left with no better option.

In regards to Hegseth, I’m having a difficult time believing that he was the best option. His personal challenges are a non-factor to me, and his military background will resonate with the Services; as will his history of Veteran advocacy. But I just don’t see anything in his background that makes me believe that he has the top level experience to efficiently navigate the Pentagon bureaucracy as it exists; I’m concerned that he will be easily influenced because he does not know better, or worse, dig in his heels on something because he does not understand the consequences.

I use myself as an example. I’ve been with the same company for many years, I am a successful and well thought of middle manager, and have a pretty good feel for what makes the wheels spin. That said, if I got an email tomorrow that I was being promoted to CEO, I’d be in way over my head and miserably fail. That is my concern with Hegseth.

In my scenario I’d do my best to surround myself with smart people who could guide me, but I don’t know that he will do that; especially if he is taking order from Trump, who tends to bring into his circle sycophants versus people who will challenge and oppose him. ( I accept in advance that that statement may be challenged and pushed back against, but that’s how I feel)

@R.Caerbannog - what is it about Hegseth’s background or experience that causes you to be in favor of him, that makes you believe he will be successful? Please do not say things like ‘draining the swamp’ or ‘cutting through the bureaucracy’ because someone who had more experience at those levels should in theory, be better qualified to navigate and break through those things.

I’m genuinely curious what you believe makes him the right choice.

Not to say we're all being played or anything, but Hegseth is anti-establishment. Every SecDef in the last 30 years was a member of the political established or the Military Establishment. He had some nonsense in his past and some harsh comments about women in combat arms when we're lowering standards for schools so we can have women in Regiment (who then sleep around). (Rumors, I know, but they're floating) So a few female Republican Senators puts some tweets out and he still gets confirmed. Political Theater. Maybe even Gaetz was the lamb that needed to be sacrificed? Well he gets to go be some talking head and earn a ton of money.

He's not a woke, politically correct, cocksucker. That's why.

Given that the Pentagon is full of REMF's that believe women belong in the Infantry, pushed DEI degeneracy down our throats, and lost wars for us, I hope Hesgeth scours the place.

You want to fundamentally change the system, so you need someone from outside of that system. To navigate the system, you need someone from within the system. Is Hegseth the right guy for the job? Dunno. Does he deserve a chance to succeed or fail? By 1 vote or 100, he's now the Man in the Arena.

I don't think he's going to be a huge success or failure. I think he's going to be the Kool Aid man who busts down some walls and gives the DoD room to "breathe" so to speak. I also think he's going to realize solutions are clear and easy sitting at Fox, but far less so from the Puzzle Palace.

He has his chance to Pass or Fail. He's now the Man in the Arena. Time to let him cook.

I can't guarantee he'll be successful, but I agree with the changes he wants to make. If he surrounds himself with like- minded people who he can trust, I think he will succeed. Most of the things he wants are really just retro and common sense. I get a kick out of the woke progressives thinking we are actually progressing.

Thank you for avoiding the hyperbole and instead focusing on well thought out examples and scenarios of why you believe he will be successful.

I knew I could count on you!

To add…
