The Trump Presidency 2.0

Gonna need a few of our fed workers to talk to me about these other software licenses that these various agencies have for unfilled chairs. Do we just keep the spigot on in case the chairs get filled or can we figure out a way to get an enterprise license that's more efficient like what we do for Microsoft 365?

Like in my company we have a yearly review on Adobe and licenses fluctuate based on the pricing model we're able to achieve with our size.

Like in my company we have a yearly review on Adobe and licenses fluctuate based on the pricing model we're able to achieve with our size.

Government pricing is different than enterprise pricing, plus we support a bunch of different flavors of operating systems from beyond obsolete (I think we have Win 2000 and RHEL 6.x boxes out there) to the newest releases. Our hardware is all over the place as well.

For my Org we have ONE office consisting of two ladies who handle our software license requests. We're looking at 2 people to support about 25,000 and their needs. Some of our aircraft trainers have over 3,000 computers and networked devices.

Background out of the way, most of our licenses have to be accounted and paid for by the individual programs. You need Visio? I had to justify the install to my manager. Desktop operating systems and Office apps are "free" to the programs, but not most applications like Visio, Adobe Acrobat, Server 2022, SQL, RHEL, etc. And the gov has a software license website that is so stupid to use not one of my coworkers can use it. You want to save money? Fix that bastard. On average it takes 2-3 months to have a software purchase approved.

That's the Navy. I can't speak for the other branches, but we don't have a lot of ghost licenses out there. The only blank check I received was to upgrade from Win 10 to Win 11. Every other piece of software required justification and came with a price tag.

Can someone reach out to the Senator with some VA mental health info? The theatrics are out of control. If that triggered his PTSD (it didn't cause it, it was already there), then I doubt he's well enough to be a Senator.

I'd buy "drone operators with PTSD" all day, every day over this guy getting PTSD from one conversation. What a slap in the face to people fighting that battle.

Yep. I come here once or twice a year for down time. It is literally the only place on earth I genuinely feel…’relaxed’. We aways stay in the West End…still relatively 3rd world and the food is ridiculously good.
I dove there in the late 80's.
Friend of mine moved there after he retired, sadly he was murdered there.

Check out Timcast (first 20 minutes or so, after the adds) to hear Mike Cernovich's take on the influencers in the White House, what they knew, and background on the phase 1 release. He was in the room and one of the invited "influencers" we have been talking about.

TLDL (too long didn't listen)- The White House didn't have the info everyone is super upset about, and the letter from Bondi to Kash was already drafted 3 hours before the embargo was lifted.

When I was there 10 - 15 years ago, Roatan had a pretty decent gang problem. I remember seeing a lot of Crips graffiti and one of the locals telling us about the problem. Honduras cracked down on gangs a few years ago, so maybe it's better now.

That said, the beaches in Roatan were amazing, good snorkeling, and we had no issues. I enjoyed it.

Ben Shapiro does an in depth breakdown of the Zelensky meeting too, dropped today.

This is great I firmly think we need to build chip factories here that way we won’t have to deal with Taiwan/China issues. President Donald Trump to announce $100B investment from Taiwanese chipmaker: sources
That's interesting. If we're moving to a more-transactional style of international diplomacy (which I'm fine with), isn't this kind of working against Taiwan's national interests? I mean one of the main reasons we care about them right now is because they make so many of our semiconductors and other tech. The more self-reliant the US is on that stuff, the less we need to care about a tiny island on the other side of the world.

While I agree, lack of domestic semiconductors really screwed over the whole North America supply chain during the pandemic. I don't think this means you won't buy from them but you need a domestic supply.

Here's the announcement.
