The Trump Presidency 2.0

Ok folks, now this isn't financial advice... but the last time the Prez said something like this, if you invested $1k worth of strike calls into QQQ with a strike price of $420 (nice), you would have made $22k in a day.

Even for the folks that hate the man, let's all build some generational wealth!!!

Honest question- I know nothing about the new pope or his politics (weird thing to say about a pope but whatevs) or how people who are religious are taking it.

Anyone have an opinion on this one?

As a non-Catholic, I don't care.

Sociologically and anthropologically I find it fascinating. There is no singular leader of the non-Catholic Christian church, the Jewish nation/church, the Muslim church. And he's also the leader of a nation -state. Where else can a state leader must be a man but can be from any other nationality?

Could be more liberal bullshit. Generally American Bishops have been significantly more conservative than the Europeans. it was thought that Francis would have been more like John Paul II which is progressive but not crazy Liberal. Served most of his time as a Bishop in South America. He was head of the Dicastry of Bishops, which is the organization that selects new Bishops and reviews current ones. It's like being the head of whatever organization evaluates dudes for Division Command. Considered an ally of Francis. Conclave voting him into the Papacy in two days? Must be popular.

The closest analogue is Iran’s supreme leader. Head of state and supreme religious authority for most of Shia Islam.

Personally, I war really hoping they would elect Pizzaballa for two reasons.

1) Name. The memes would have been worthy of the Vicar or Christ.

2) I'm like 70-80% sure I accidentally ran into him when I wandered into a church in Jerusalem and ended up in an area I apparently wasn't supposed to be in. His face is very familiar.

Either way, both reasons had me actively rooting for him like my favorite sports teams. Sadly, my favorite baseball team is the Pirates...so this outcome was very much expected XD

They say the Pope "takes a name" to reflect how they plan to lead - to show respect to past Popes...

-'Leo the Great' met with Attila the Hun in an effort to negotiate a peace with Rome - not long after the meeting, Attila the Hun dropped dead - some would even say Attila the Hun was assassinated by his "new wife" - as rumor might have it, a concubine sent by Leo the Great himself - now, that is some straight up gangster Poping going on there

-'Leo XIV' is from Chicago - 'nuff said

Lol ok tight. I don't care about the breathless OuTrAgE from Christian Conservatives, I don't understand a group that worships a guy as the head of the church (I grew up Catholic and never understood the fielty to the Pope), I was joking with the wife about how the new Pope and the mayor of Nairobi have the exact same impact on my life, the way I live it, or anything else.

Odd, don't care, moving on.
